I had a very disappointing experience and will not be returning. I've been going to D.V. for several years out of convenience, but my most recent visit completely changed my perspective. My appointment was scheduled for 5:30 PM with Nicole, her last appointment of the day, and I wasn't taken back until 5:50 PM. Once I was in the treatment room, it immediately felt rushed. While discussing my injection plan, I asked for a mirror so I could point out specific areas on my face. Although she briefly handed it to me, she quickly took it back. When I asked if I could keep the mirror in my lap to reference during the appointment, she responded by asking if I was "scared," which felt both dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering I've been treated by her multiple times before. Additionally, she did not use the vein finder, despite knowing that I bruise easily and having the device readily available in the room. As a result, I was left with bruising that lasted for weeks. The overall tone of the appointment shifted at that point. The interaction became uncomfortable, and the provider's body language was noticeably standoffish. At one point, when discussing my brow area, I again needed the mirror to show what I was referring to, and the same pattern occurred...brief access, then taken away. Later, when I was bleeding and asked for the mirror to see where to apply pressure, it felt like an inconvenience rather than a reasonable request. The experience at checkout was equally disappointing. The receptionist only stated the total amount due, with no acknowledgment, courtesy, or even a simple "thank you" or "goodbye." This visit left me feeling rushed, dismissed, and uncomfortable...especially for a service that requires trust, communication, and attention to detail. It was clear to me during the appointment that this would be my last time there. Moving forward, I will be returning to a med spa that prioritizes professionalism, transparency, and patient care. In my experience, higher-quality practices take the time to review products with clients, including showing packaging, expiration dates, and lot numbers, and ensure the patient feels informed and respected throughout the process. I hope the owner takes feedback like this seriously, as experiences like mine can result in the loss of long-time clients. read more

I went in on a Groupon, 20 units of BOTOX for $159 and found out I was injected with a less expensive product Xeomin. I was livid. I told the front desk that I would be back and I want BOTOX at the Groupon price, they agreed. I had gone back got BOTOX and they tried to charge me full price. She called Mgr Katey Callahan, Ms Callahan agreed to the discount. Then Ms. CALLAHAN decides to call me to tell me I shouldn't have received the discount. The woman is a nut. The Hamden location is such a fun, sleek location! The staff is excellent and go between Shelton and Hamden. The only downfalls to this location are the parking, which is limited, and the fact it is next door to the hair salon which at times can be noisy/busy. However, the atmosphere in the salon is very relaxing. The girls are always helpful! I've had procedures done by Scott in both locations, and would highly recommend his services no matter which location he's in. Bonus points for groupon coupons!! read more

Buyer beware! What a horrible experience. I went in for what I thought would be around $200 and they up sold me to almost $800. Unfortunately she injected way to much Botox so my eyelids dropped so bad that my vision is still impaired. Also, my bruises lasted 2 weeks. It's been over 4 weeks now, and my eyes are still drooping. When I called to explain, the office manager told me company policy is to wait 2 weeks and after 14 days she would schedule me with the same injector. I tried to explain I wasn't comfortable with that, since this injector botched my face, but she kept repeating this is company policy. I asked the office manager if I could speak with Scott, the owner, but she said I wasn't allowed to contact him. Then I asked if I could speak with Dr. Kinler, who is supposed to be involved in this business, but wasn't allowed her contact information either. The office manager told me all calls and emails are routed through her. I have an appointment with my eye doctor next week to see if anything can be done. The experience with this office manager was worse than speaking with a computer BOT. This practice should be audited by the CT department of health, what a disgrace. read more

I had the best experience on Friday. I have been to both the Shelton location and now the Hamden location too. I received filler injections at the Shelton location before my pregnancy with my daughter Isabelle. Scott the Owner was extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable. I am now 11 months postpartum and feel just as beautiful as I did before my pregnancy thanks to the staff at the Hamden location. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Communication is very important when dealing with a practitioner who is going to operate on your face and this woman barely spoke English which made me extremely uncomfortable. The practitioner needs to learn how to speak to people how to communicate effectively and how to take no for an answer. When I moved back to the state, I was referred to Scott by a friend of mine who also uses him for her Botox, after I had a very bad experience elsewhere in Ct. I have gone to only him ever since! I've been to other practitioners prior to moving back to Ct, and elsewhere around here before finding Scott, and he was by FAR the best!!! You have to really trust the person who is going to be injecting things into your face obviously! For both your safety and your looks. I've always felt very comfortable with Scott for this reason. He is very well-educated on techniques and products, and I've asked him about other procedures in the past and he said I didn't need that or he doesn't recommend a particular thing to clients because it doesn't work, which I respect that he isn't always trying to sell me on something. I've been to another practitioner in Ct who was way more pushy, completely overbooked and always keeping their clients waiting, and I was not as happy with the results. You really need to have someone who understands how to properly contour a face, and also keep it natural looking at the same time! He is very skilled at this. I pulled up this account quickly to look up the phone number to call them, and I was really quite shocked to see a few bad reviews in a row, so I wanted to make sure to leave something good :) I really trust Scott and have continued to come back here the last five years. I have friends who use him, and I've referred clients of mine to him, who all have always been very happy with their results as well. I recently had facial injections by Scott. I had 2 (what looked liked cracks) on each side of my lips. It looked like I was mad all the time. I hated them. After the painless injections I was handed the mirror and they were GONE. I was thrilled. Scott is a master of his craft and a great guy to boot. He has the ability to make you feel at home and completely comfortable. He is gentle when administering treatment and so knowledgeable about the treatment, you can't help but feel great about what your having done. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help with any situation you may have. The one thing that is very important to me is to look natural, I have never left the Spa looking overdone. Scott is great! I had a minor procedure during which I got very light headed and nervous. He and his staff put me immediately at ease and provided me with food (my blood sugar was likely very low), water and didn't leave my side until I felt better. Handled it like total pros. His trainee Sam was exceptional in her bedside manner and will be a great NP. Emma was efficient and very professional. Again, Scott was fantastic. He knows his stuff and is a straight shooter. I had a massage sampler from Groupon. My one hour deep tissue massage was heavenly. She concentrated on my shoulders, like I requested. There was a back scrub treatment that was relaxing with a warm towel. I also had a complimentary eye treatment. I can't wait to try the hot stone and lava shell massage. The atmosphere is sparse compared to other spas, but there is still a comfortable table and soothing music. There may be just one employee available, so be patient if the door is locked. To my delight, they even offered a secondary coupon for deep tissue massages for ~$40. There is a private lot in the back of the facility. The spa shares space with a salon next door. read more

This is as bad a medical service of any kind that I've been to. They use low price heavy promotions to lure people in. Then you realize why the ads are low priced. The service is rude and incompetent. They can't even manage to accurately keep phone numbers and addresses. So, they of course don't verify identity when i call so anybody could be calling getting my info. They randomly decide to leave early so I've gone there for appointments and everyone has been gone with the place locked up. The people doing procedures are of poor quality. I don't think there's ever been an MD in the office when I've been there. I had a procedure done there that I've had ongoing problems from. When I called to tell them I was having problems from their procedure and needed a follow up, they suddenly didn't want to know me and never return my calls to schedule. This is a disaster of a medical service. It's definitely not worth any low ball price they may try to bait and switch with. Then, when someone writes a review exposing this unethical business, the "business" instead of trying to correct the problem as a legitimate business would, responds by attacking the reviewer with false unrelated accusations in a desperate attempt to obfuscate. I had a prenatal (pregnancy) massage here a few months ago and it was a really great experience. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the massage therapist was a real professional. She was very careful with me even though my tummy wasn't that big at that point. It was also a great price for a prenatal massage. I was hoping to go back recently and had trouble with my voicemail message not being returned. Unfortunately they were all booked up by the time I left a second voicemail and got a call back. Do not go to to Scott for injections. He is not a medical Dr. I had Dysport injected into my forehead and around my eyes. I ended up with two Pillows over and under each eye,. One eye was almost closed shut. When I left the office, I knew immediately something went wrong. One side of my face was tight, black and blue and disfigured. When I clinched my teeth, or tried to, it was so crooked, my lower teeth didn't even show. That was 7 months ago and still have ill effects from it. You get what you pay for. I've gotten botox, dysport and xeonim done by Scott, I've always been happy with the results(botox is my favorite, I think it works the strongest). I've also had juvederm done twice and he's done a beautiful job. Both times he used 1 syringe and it was used on my nasolabial folds and my lips, it was just enough and very natural looking. I can be your biggest detractor or staunchest advocate, and I find myself about to write a review that I am even surprised about. I have had Botox/Dysport for the last 10 years. I have never been somewhere that did not do the ordinary locations and have been satisfied with the results. I had no idea what I was missing or what was even possible till I went to Dolce Vida a few days ago. I saw Scott Callahan and we had a lengthy appointment in which he spent a great deal of time introducing himself, the Dolce Vida Spa, and the different treatments that were available that Dolce Vida offered. It was a very informative appointment and then he used Dysport and injected my forehead, and eye area. For the first time in at least 5 years i have eyelids again. I am so impressed and amazed at the results. It has only been two days, and I can already see amazing results. I actually said to Scott that I was a very difficult patient, but when I am happy with a service, I will shout it off the rooftops. Same can be said if I was not not happy with the results. Glad that I can report this is a very happy post. I will continue to go to the Dolce Vida Spa and will be more than happy to recommend them. I actually have an appointment for a hydra facial and for the Veinwave treatement for the red broken capillaries on my my cheeks in two weeks. I will keep you updated. read more
