She is so cheerful herself and she will shower the sweetest compliments that will cheer u up as well. There is a little area where u can do a quick catch up on ur laptop, or charge your phones, or even get a drink from the vending machine. If this has been around since long then I have been too self involved to notice it..... Armed with everything I had in mind, I walked out with the biggest smile. These days they seem republican and antiquated and their prices are high and they're not moving things into the future at the same pace as the likes of JC Penney, which aren't themselves the most amazing, but at least they're getting some things more right than Macy's. This particular location is the first ever discounted Macy's in Houston, think the Macy's equivalent of Nordstrom Rack or something like that, maybe Saks Off Broadway. So you'll find much better deals here than at the regular Macy's, and that's why I gave them three stars. It's good to have this chain in Houston, but as Barbie will attest, the clothes for women are not the greatest, and even with all the discounts, they're still not cheap enough to tempt us to buy them.

(Though, I haven't tried on anything lately to note the condition of the fitting rooms. Bathroom is still pretty sketchy.) For the most part, the store has been more organized and tidier as well. We have been finding WAY TOO MANY GOOD DEALS. This is to the detriment of our bank account. Some recent deals: $60 Nikes (which retail for $180), carry-on luggage for $35, $40 A&M Adidas backpack ($88 retail tag), etc etc. I do occasionally feel that some of their prices are high on certain items. Like, $20 for under armor sweatpants is still high to me personally. Some other Nike shoes can be as high as $82. Nope. The service here is still lacking. At my most recent visit, I went to self check-out with 10 items and the large sign on the ceiling says the limit is 10. As I began ringing out my items, the unfriendly, gruff woman working the self checkout yells "THE LIMIT IS 10." To which we replied that we had 10. When she was checking our receipt, my daughter and I try some light conversation with her, to which her harshness continued. We both left the store talking about how we couldn't believe how rude and angry she was. I have to note that on other occasions, the staff weren't *AS* unfriendly as this lady was. Overall, I'm glad we have this place close to us.

The socks were $1.50 and the gloves were $1.50, so it seems like most items are that price now unless you shop the special aisle where things cost a bit more. Still, everything felt like a good value for what I needed. I did need a little help finding the gloves, and the cashier was friendly and pointed me in the right direction. The store wasn't too dirty, especially considering how busy it was. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely go back.

Fire exit doors are blocked with product and it doesn't look like they'll move these items anytime soon. As this is the only store within a few blocks without having to go on the freeway, you would think the store manager and their employees would attempt to actually tidy this place. So I put the last 2 on the top, and walked away from them to get some zip lock baggies at the back of the store . This rude woman mouthed off and said she knocked them off she needs to put them back . I looked right at her , and at that point my temper flared First this woman didn't deserve the temper or attention she got from me . Sadly , it did make me mad . Only ONCE have we EVER gotten less than par food & we've had it ALL - from their fresh tamales to their plate lunches to their barbacoa, tripas or carnitas by the pound!  Their pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread) is ALWAYS FRESH - NEVER STALE although it depends on the baker sometimes it's a tad too sugary for me but hey it's called sweet bread for a reason, no? If you're looking for fresh meat or Mexican recipe fixings they'll have what you need to make your mouth drool and your brain go into overload with ideas! I love that I can get all my menudo fixings AND they'll cut my pork feet to my specifications unlike MOST grocery stores.
