I have since changed my view on this Ross. Lately, I haven't noticed the store being as gross as previously reviewed. (Though, I haven't tried on anything lately to note the condition of the fitting rooms. Bathroom is still pretty sketchy.) For the most part, the store has been more organized and tidier as well. We have been finding WAY TOO MANY GOOD DEALS. This is to the detriment of our bank account. Some recent deals: $60 Nikes (which retail for $180), carry-on luggage for $35, $40 A&M Adidas backpack ($88 retail tag), etc etc. I do occasionally feel that some of their prices are high on certain items. Like, $20 for under armor sweatpants is still high to me personally. Some other Nike shoes can be as high as $82. Nope. The service here is still lacking. At my most recent visit, I went to self check-out with 10 items and the large sign on the ceiling says the limit is 10. As I began ringing out my items, the unfriendly, gruff woman working the self checkout yells "THE LIMIT IS 10." To which we replied that we had 10. When she was checking our receipt, my daughter and I try some light conversation with her, to which her harshness continued. We both left the store talking about how we couldn't believe how rude and angry she was. I have to note that on other occasions, the staff weren't *AS* unfriendly as this lady was. I don't care what anybody says. When I come to Ross I already expect long lines and great deals.. So I'm mentally prepared. This location is over on Broadway 518 Near 288 in the Target Shopping center. What I like about this location is that is its in the same shopping center as Marshall's, Homegoods and Kirkland's. So if you have something in mind that you're looking for go to Ross first, because its going to be the best deal.. Then to the other stores if you don't find here. I think the staff is friendly and as helpful as a Ross employee is expected. Yes the store is messy at times.. But those are the busy times. I think at time people expect too much from certain places. When going to a high end retail store you expect a certain level of service. This is a discount store. And they deliver exactly what's expected. Good prices. Tuesdays is Senior Citizens day and all shoppers 55 and over gets 10% off of their purchase.. read more

I am a true fan!!! This one of my favorites places to shop, because I can find things at half the price or less than what is paid in department stores or mall. I will never got get a customer asking about the advertised discounts and wanting to know how to find the coupons to get the 40 to 60% percent off in savings. Of course that would just been a give away and not a sale. What can I find here name brand shoes, clothing and hand bags. Furniture and decor or pretty much whatever you need for the home. Look even closer and you may find a few pantry specialty items, that I only look for in Ross now for cooking. I just wish, I could find more clothing in my size sometimes, however this is a first come first buy type store. Although, I found some really nice shirts here this go around and a pair of sweats for easy living and dressing on the weekends Plus, it called Ross Dress for less and not to Impress, however on occasion it should be called that as well. The customer service is less than desirable. I waited in line for more than 30 minutes to make a return. During the busiest time of day, there was 1 cashier to help those with purchases and returns. There are 11 customers to be served by one cashier. I think that's a little unreasonable. read more

I will never understand the long lines. There is always a register not in use and I wish they would schedule cashiers to fill all the registers on the weekends. If you come to this Ross, you are going to get the same experience as every other Ross. Horrible customer service, LONG lines while the employees are laughing, and talking REALLY loud to each other. The shoes are always a mess. The rug area sometimes can't even be passed because all the rugs are thrown on the floor. I recently went to check out the holiday stuff that they put out in the front. HA! I had to organize it myself to see everything. HORRIBLE!!! Everything is just thrown everywhere. Does this store even have a manager or even an district manager, or something?! How do they pass anything? On a positive note, I always see stuff I see at Target here. I saw a Starbucks mug with hot cocoa for half the price it was at Target. All you have to do is move the 50 other things that are on top of it to find it. Lol. Messy! read more

First impression? It's messy, a lot of items are on the floor, and it just didn't look appealing to the eye. I just knew the pearland location had it going on. So not the case. Plus the racks was kinda empty. I didn't find anythingggg. read more

Their home department is well stocked...and there are many items within it that are much cheaper than Bed, Bath, and Beyond. However, the rest of the store leaves much to be desired as I have yet to visit the store and be impressed with their organization and cleanliness. Can you get some good deals here? Yes, but everything else about this store sucks. The lines to check out at this store are always insane. There can be a mile long line and only 1 cashier and other workers including the managers see this and don't do anything about it. If you love a place where you can spend 20 minutes in a check out line then this is just the spot for you. The store is also very unorganized. Honestly, Ross is probably the young uglier sister of Marshals... whom isn't too pretty herself. I think Ross gets the leftovers that Marshalls doesn't end up selling... seriously! The only reason i even walk into Ross is because it's on the way to Marshalls! lol... I honestly think that ALL Ross and Marshalls retail locations are right next to each other! correct me if I'm wrong? I really never find anything in Ross. Maybe the occasional athletic shoe... which still seems to be a bit overpriced.. for the store it's in. They have very very very low selections in clothing, especially in the Men's Department. They never have more than 2 chashiers working... making the queue super long.. and even when you do find something to buy... the line deters you from buying it! OK, to be fair, I have never expected much from Ross. However, I found the coolest wire close hamper at a Ross in WA about two years ago. I like it so much that I have been trying to find another. I noticed this store behind Starbucks and went in looking for something similar. I was greeted "welcome to Ross" by one of two workers that were having a conversation at the front of the store. Unfortunately they did not have what I was looking for, so I browsed the home items. I found a great pizza pan and went to check out. On my way, I heard a woman speaking loudly in Hindi...I looked and she was a worker speaking on a cell phone, laughing when she was restocking a shelf. Upon entering the register line, I noticed that I was #4 in line and only one person was working the checkout. Three other customers entered the line and I noticed that the two employees I saw earlier were still B.S.'n & a third had joined them. This was CRAZY because they were 10 feet away from a register and seven (+) customers were in line. I set the pizza pan down and walked out. This business must be in HIGH demand to run this way, but I will not be returning...even if I REALLY want another wire hamper. read more

Beware that any Christmas type products that you received as gifts won't be exchanged at the sticker price , unless you have a receipt . The exchange amount is .49 cents for "All Christmas related products" per the cashier . So if you are looking to exchange a pair of slippers that didn't fit for the larger size , you will receive a .49 cent value toward the change in size ....... for the same product I proudly left the additional $90 purchase at the counter when I found out this is how this company operates. Best of luck Ross , but I'll gladly go next door to Marshall's from now on where the return/exchange process is reasonable . read more

Have to lower my overall rating of this Ross location. You can always find interesting things to buy, but each visit this place looks more and more unorganized and dirty. The worst part about this Ross location, well (like almost every Ross location I've ever visited) is the checkout. By the time you finish gathering the things you are going to buy, you have to stand in line sometimes as much as a half hour or more. And these aren't long lines either. Ross is my go to place to get dresses of any kind (casual, formal/party, professional/office). Their dress selection is great as I get to buy designer dresses at Walmart prices! I also go here sometimes to get shoes and outerwear. You definitely have to dig and take your time, but the deals you can find are outstanding! The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lines, especially on weekends are always so long! read more

This Ross is terrible. It was a complete mess and when I purchased a large area rug, I was ignored 3 times by a male employee to help me get it to my car. When I came back in, he said he couldn't help me carry it to my car, that I had pulled up to the curb because he was working "loss prevention" so I asked if he could find someone that could, and he said no. Seriously?!? The girl who checked me out knew I needed help as well but made no attempt to find someone who could. As a Ross-a-holic, I can honestly say, it's the worst Ross that I've EVER visited. At first you think it's a fluke so you try again, but as previously mentioned by others... the one line that you're herded into like sheep is ALWAYS long, the non-existent customer service is lacking in so many ways, and a few of the ever changing cashiers act "ghetto", as in unprofessionally, and will argue back and forth with customers! The so called managers are a joke, and to think, their rate of attrition or retention (however you want to look at it) is pitiful and seemingly occurs more so than other employees! The registers breakdown too frequently, and they dare to tell customers that all we can use is cash. Too bad there's no way of knowing this before you arrive, and wasting time shopping and standing in line. The 288/518 Ross is a flea market, no, I meant to say an EMBARRASSMENT, that has ALWAYS been poorly managed and staffed (speaking as someone who worked in an A-line national retail store for 17 years). I am writing in reference to the following store loacation: Silverlake Shopping Center 10426 Broadway St Pearland, TX 77584 I am a frequent Ross customer, not only shopping at this particular location but Ross location all over the city and state. Therefore, I have experienced much better service and cleanliness at other locations, although each store varies with individual flaws. I am highly dissatisfied with the cleaniness and organization of the Sliverlake location. I will be moving into the area at the end of the month and can not fathom the thought of returning to shop here for future purchases due to the employess socializing and not greeting or assisting customers, merchandise is in disarray from lack of employees maintaining an organized floor. It was so disturbing that I could barely walk through the ailes. Being new to the Pearland area, its disheartening to see a local shopping area be in such condition. I will not recommend this location to any of my family or friends unless something is done about its customer service and all around store cleanliness. read more

I was just there buying a Dress. It had a price on it ($49.99) but I asked the cashier for a price check just in case there was an additional discount over that. She told me the dress was $18.99. I continued shopping and when It was time for me to pay I say that the dress was $49.99. I asked why because she had just told me it was cheaper. She continued to say that I had picked up another dress and that it wasn't the same one. I didn't pick up another dress, it was the same dress. She said that the one I brought to her had no price tag on it. I guess she assumed that since I was asking her for the price that it didn't have a tag. She called the manager and she explained to the manager that I has picked up another dress. I told the manager that this wasn't true, I hadn't. The manager told me that if my dress had a price tag on it then why was I asking for the price. Basically calling me a liar. I told her she could look through their camera security system to check that I didn't pick up another dress. She replied "aren't you listening to me" the dress you have is not the same dress.
