She then denied me being able to purchase Pokémon cards since I had walked in with my grandmother who had just bought some. Dani likes to enforce a limit on Pokémon cards that does not exist at other local Dollar General stores and also does not exist at all according to her boss (regional manager). I asked her questions while checking out such as, why she had a limit at just her store and explained that I was from a seperate household and was a seperate person from my grandmother who was here visiting. Dani decided to ignore my questions and only kept repeating my purchase total to me. Now my family has the personal number for the regional manager because of Dani and Josh (another employee). We have had multiple issues with Josh in the past everytime we go there. Legally I have been advised to not talk too much about the past incidents at all since they relate to discrimination. After calling the regional manager over Dani we were told by him that we could go to the store and purchase the remaining Pokémon cards. When we did this Dani decided to ban me from the store for telling on her to her boss. We relayed this information to her boss and he assured us the its against Dollar General policy to ban people from stores. Upon reading other reviews of this location it does seem like Danielle or Dani is always rude to customers. Even if she is fired from this store I am not sure I would ever go back. In fact I will make sure my friends know to not shop here. Which is sad considering its my local store and a person is supposed to feel safe in their community but Dani and Josh have made that store such a hostile environment its impossible to feel safe shopping there.

After paying, I noticed the total was higher than expected and politely asked about honoring the sale signage. He checked and said the sale ended yesterday but the signs hadn't been taken down--then shockingly added, "I can't do three jobs... I can't take signs down and ring out people." When I calmly asked if the signage would still be honored, he accused me of being "rude," which I was not. I spoke respectfully the entire time. After refusing to give his name (and not wearing a tag), he told me not to return to the store, and when I said I shop there often, he replied, "I won't service you." Completely uncalled for and unprofessional. I called Dollar General corporate and was told I'd receive a call from the district manager within 24 hours--it's now been nearly two weeks with no follow-up. I hate posting negative reviews, but customers deserve to know how poorly this situation was handled.

I was treated even worse over the phone; the district manager was in a personal setting at his home, having a conversation with me, and was completely unprofessional. It seems there is no professionalism at "Dollar General" at all. I am writing this review to warn the community about the toxic management at this Dollar General. Save yourself the stress and shop somewhere else where you will actually be treated with basic human decency. A few months ago, while a customer was simply trying to shop for their family, the store manager completely escalated a situation out of nowhere, unprovoked and manufactured a massive crisis. She chose to call the police on an innocent customer, falsely claiming to law enforcement the customer was "refusing to leave" even though she had never once actually asked or ordered the customer to leave the premises. To make matters worse, she escalated the situation even further by breaking company protocol and following the customer all the way out to their vehicle in the parking lot as the customer was voluntarily leaving. She then used the interaction to fabricate a completely false story to the police, claiming the customer tried to fight her, which is an absolute lie caught on camera. The level of power-tripping, harassment, and complete lack of accountability from the management here is staggering. Instead of following standard retail procedures, this manager wasting resources used law enforcement as a personal tool to target a shopper do nothing but simply shopping peacefully. Avoid this store at all costs; you may just be discriminated against, targeted or worse!
