At the Chandler Brookshires I repeatedly have problems with the freshness of foods items in: Dairy,…read moreOrange Juice, Produce, and Meat. Dairy items such as coffee creamer, milk, sour cream and yogurt have been brought home only to be spoiled the next day. I carry a cooler in my car and buy ice to keep sensitive items cold for a 15 min drive home. The Produce spoils with in days of bringing it home; and Meat is often spoiled before the expiration date. All fresh foods have a time limit that starts once the food is prepared or harvested; and the time starts counting down till it spoils (overcome by bacteria). Items that are allowed to sit on a truck or in the store unrefrigerated will reach that expiration time before they are marked to expire. The Chandlers Brookshires appears to have this problem, whether it's in the store or at the warehouse in Tyler.....don't know which. But the problem needs to be identified. The health department or FDA may eventually need to be notified! I have probably waisted over $200 on spoilage at this store over the last 2 years; with one or two items spoiling per visit. I have begun to shop at other stores, like the Canton and Lake Palestine Brookshires and Walmart. I don't have this problem at this stores, wonder why?

We ordered cheeseburgers and chicken strips basket. From the reviews, I was expecting homemade but I was disappointed. My hamburger patty, you could tell, was a frozen flat patty, but it was seasoned well. Chicken strips basket were better than the burger. I forgot to take pictures. Don't get me wrong.... the food was good but I was disappointed because I was expecting hand patted patties and fresh cut fries. Definitely not homemade. We passed through to visit family, food was good but don't think this will be a norm stop.

Tried a Big Red for the first time here. The Blue Store is a hometown classic. It's where you make the every day memories that you cherish later. There was a small section to the right, when you first walk in, that has I guess items one might want to run in and out with a quick purchase (ie greeting cards, gift bags, gift paper, shampoo, oral hygiene supplies, women's hygiene supplies. Many of these were small samplings of things located in other areas of the store. I like the idea of not having to run all over to get this stuff, but thought the store had such a limited selection until I found their true homes. Maybe if the was a sign that listed the quick find items, it would help visitors, and they get quite a few, with 2 Silverleaf Resorts being within miles, on Lake Palestine. We did find the few items needed, and at a reasonable price.
