Not the most enthusiastic employees, and the front of the store is always cluttered with with…read moresomething. Tried to buy something on sale and when the sale price didn't ring up asked for the manager. She said she couldn't do a price adjustment and refused to call for authorization to do so. We video taped her refusal and the sale price on the shelf and she called the sheriff's department on us. We didn't raise our voice or use ugly language or tape customers as we were accused of doing, but she did tell tell us to stop, so we were wrong. Still, not my idea of customer service. We used to go there every week. Now we will never go there. Went there today and was told that the person who refused to give us the advertised discount no longer worked there. The new Assistant Manager was very nice and made us feel more comfortable about returning to the store. She was very nice and very personable.

I understand your first open, but there was no reason for you to have an attitude just because you wanted to walk off after you let your customers in the door. Yes, I understand. I went to the register first and didn't need to purchase anything I was trying to put money on my prepaid power. Get on top of that I didn't even get Services taken care of because she acted like it didn't work because you didn't wanna take care of your customer. They took the time to answer my questions. I went to the Dollar General at 2500 Hamilton Road earlier this week and the manager stalked me up and down the isles and even followed me to the register during check-out; monitoring my every move. When I asked if he often followed his customers around the store he yelled at me!! He wasn't but a child so I guess that's what you get when you hire a boy to do a man's job. They should really hire some adults and not children. At any rate, the Manchester store is the one I will be frequenting from no on!

The aisles are a little bill cramped and crowded (more narrow) but they have a better selection of things I want and need to buy. If you're a big person, overweight - you may have a difficult time navigating past any other customers in the store, but there usually aren't a lot of people in there at any given time as is the case at the River Road store.
