ALTHOUGH, last time I went in there I was sorely disappointed and the meat department. I don't know if it was incompetence or laziness.....I asked to have a 5lbs bottom round sliced at 1/4 inch for jerky. The guy asked if he could do that to another employee and I explained (I shouldn't have to) that I've had it done before. This is the butcher area of the meat department......a lady walked up and tells me it will take forever to get done . I said "to slice a 5lbs bottom round?" She said "ya, you usually need to call in a day before to have something like this done so we have time." Absolutely mind blown . It's take 3-4 minutes tops to slice one. Mind you, this is after I explained I've had it done multiple times. I just laughed and left. I didn't even trust them to slice it at this point. She told me it would take approximately 1 hour to accomplish lol. I left and had it down somewhere else in under 10 minutes. While this place is usually just OKAY, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after this interaction. Obviously I'll still go back for some things, but I'll be avoiding this meat department. I would rather pay a little more somewhere else than deal with that type of service again.

Wow, this place is incredible!…read more I spend a lot of time in the area at a little vacation home, and I am so mad that I've been going to the crappy town IGA instead of this place for so long. We go through a fair amount of produce each week, so when I heard about Wayne's I decided to give it a try - hoping for both better prices and better quality. I was totally blown away! It's incredibly well-kept and well-organized, and they have a ton of items that IGA doesn't. My favorite part is the "value bags" they have available - for just $19.95, you get a reusable tote bag filed with all types of fruits and vegetables. Check out the photo I uploaded... you won't believe how much I actually got for the price! It made us try new things we don't always eat, too. They also have a butcher attached, fresh local eggs, dairy, and more. One thing to note: if you're using a credit card, it does have to be for over $15. I'm so happy to have found this place and I look forward to stopping by as much as I can!

I wish I had taken more photos because we were walking around oohing and aahing and saying, "Wow, look at this!" and "Look at that!" so much that we were already getting enough looks from people. This was easily one of the nicest grocery stores we've ever been in. The selection was incredible, and everything looked so fresh and appetizing. Coming from California, there were so many options we just don't have available to us back home. I was especially impressed by the huge selection of premade and pre-prepped meals. As someone who doesn't really cook, I kept thinking that if I lived in this area, I could probably eat a lot healthier simply because there were so many fresh, convenient options ready to grab and go. I also loved seeing so many individual-sized meals, which would be perfect for anyone shopping or cooking for just one person. And the prices! We obviously expected things to be less expensive than California, but we were still surprised by how reasonably priced everything seemed. It was genuinely hard not to buy one of everything. We're staying at a hotel that provides breakfast and dinner, so we showed some restraint and mostly picked up snacks, drinks, and water for our room. We did, however, venture into the dessert section, which was absolutely mouthwatering, and bought one of their gooey butter desserts. Good grief. PURE SUGAR. It may legitimately be one of the sweetest desserts we have ever eaten. This is something you need to eat in a fudge-sized portion, but ours came in what felt like a bread-sized paper tin, and they sell even bigger ones! I cannot imagine eating that much at once. Definitely a dessert to share...with several people. We also tried a Zevia cream soda and really liked it. We specifically chose it because of its ingredients and my husband's dietary restrictions, so finding a drink he could have that also tasted good was a nice surprise. We liked it enough that we'll be looking for more. If we were staying in the area longer, I absolutely would have gone back to try some of the prepared meals. Great selection, beautiful store, reasonable prices, and an impressive amount of fresh and convenient food options. We went in just to look around and left wishing we had a Dierbergs back home.
