I was able to talk with the manager (or maybe owner) and she told me they work with 400 cooperatives in 59 countries across the world. The first time I went, I didn't buy anything because there were so many different things and I wanted more time to really look at everything. There were household goods, instruments, shoes, blankets, jewelry, art, and so much more. Prices range from low to high, but all are fairly priced to help promote economic development in the countries that send the goods. The second time I went, I took my husband with me. He settled on a Gourd Shaker made in Peru and I purchased earrings made in Kenya. While we were there, we saw a djembe that we will probably go back and get. I highly suggest you stop by. I always order one to two whole chickens depending who is eating and always ask them to cut them in parts. The red chipotle salsa is hot and the green should have been medium but felt it was also hot, so be prepare hopefully the batch of salsa is not as hot on your trip. I also buy a pound or two of warm homemade corn tortillas, so I always ask if they have any since they almost always run out late afternoon. Depending on the occasion I will make me chicken tacos, prepare some sides with it, or just dig in like a bucket of full of chicken. If you go and don't find what you're looking for, stop back another day. If you see something you want, get it then because someone else will beat you to it! Prices have gone up over the years but you're still saving money from what the item originally cost. Lovelady Center, located not far from the store, helps women get back on their feet after going through tough times. They turn your donations into profit that helps them support their residents. In fact, most, if not all, the ladies that work here, are connected to Lovelady in some way. They are either current residents or have been helped in the past. You should really look up their story. If you like to shop, especially in thrift stores, you must check them out!
