Prices are high but given the logistics of the next nearest big hardware store, it's cheaper to buy here than drive all the way to parkersburg or wheeling. .. The best part about this location, and the reason I go back often - the guys that work the different sections really know their stuff, and if they don't, they will find the guy who does. The electric and plumbing dept are extremely knowledgeable and can explain anything to the average person. I think the 3 guys I have in mind deserve a serious raise.

We had planned on heading farther to get gas but the road was closed so we stopped here. We are…read moresure glad we did. We were charmed by the aged charm of the building. We decided to go in and look around. Upon entering we were greeted by Bill Park the third generation owner since his Grandad bought the store in 1938. This looks more like a miscellaneous store than a general store but it holds charm. The original shelves are still there, painted white and filled with new and very old items. Bill spoke to us about the history of the area and also the store itself was built in the 1840's. He had great knowledge of the area and told us some local lore. His store doesn't have a large selection of items of the food stuffs kind, but go in and take a load off while he tells tales of yesteryear.
