But somehow someone came up with the idea of merging family dollar and dollar tree into one business. I've driven by this location a few times and realized that it was newly opened. I kept telling myself that I was gonna stop in but I never found the time until today. First of all if you've read my other reviews, you have heard me talk about how dollar tree never had enough products and how Family Dollar was always left messy, dirty and trashy. This location fixed both of those issues. The store is neat and clean and there's more than enough products on the shelves. With that being said I must tell you I was pleasantly surprised at how well Stocked and clean it was. Staff were friendly and greeting people as they came in and even though we are in the middle of a severe inflation in this country, the prices in the store were very reasonable. There's only two things that I can see being a potential problem in the future. One is location. Although I love the idea of having these two stores merged into one place it's "the place" that I'm having an issue with. This part of town where the store is located is not necessarily the safest and therefore my visits will be sporadic and during a certain time of day because of this. We all know that it really doesn't matter how good a store is, but it's all about location and if people don't feel safe, odds are they won't visit much. The second potential problem is the fact that there are more family dollar products than dollar tree. When you walk inside you can clearly see that there is more of a family dollar presence than a dollar tree. The section for dollar tree is smaller than a section for family dollar but also it can be confusing because within the family dollar isles, there are certain shelves labeled as dollar tree shelves so every now and then you will see dollar tree items mixed with family dollar items and you have to really pay attention to the prices because you don't want to get up to the register and get sticker shock. It's a good idea to merge these two companies but I think the way they did it can shoot them in the foot. I think making it more balanced between the two companies would be better than having one outweigh the other. But considering that it hasn't been open very long I'm curious to see how long they can keep their stride going. I like the idea and I'm hoping that they can overcome their weaknesses and that their strengths keep them around for a long time. It is nice to know that I can go there and get products for real decent price all in one place.

Maybe they should hire another checker for this time slot. I like shopping at their store. They have a adequate selection. I am on SS and it helps stretch my meager funds. Kudos to the single checker both times. I have been on their side of the counter many times years ago and I know how frustrating it can be.

I needed the groceries or I would have let the cashier refund me. This is ridiculous that 80% of the time the discount coupon doesn't work. Here, even if you need to go to the back of the store, it's not a chore...Unless the isles are blocked with boxes. This store has been in turmoil for years. They keep replacing the managers with people that's less organized then the one before. No offense to the people that work there because they're all seemingly nice and helpful people. They either need more/better help or a bigger store, I'm not sure... Corporate Dollar General needs to stop or modify their automated inventory delivery system because stores like this can't physically hold the stuff they send. You can plainly see this... This automatic inventory is also why some things never seem to be in stock. If something is stolen, it never gets restocked until the inventory is reset. I'm very close to not shopping here any longer... Sadly, I Might be there already. Which would be a shame. Their prices are great on most items and it's awesomely convenient to just run in and grab the few items you need between big shopping runs. Fix this store... Please.
