They are pleasant, attentive and efficient. Check in was quick and easy. Pricing is considerably less than other nearby hotels. The rooms are a little dated, but they are clean. There is a microwave and large fridge in the room. The TV was easy to use and the channel selection is good. The bathroom was clean. No pets are allowed. Air conditioning worked fine. I had a minor issue with the fridge making noise, but I didn't complain about it. They probably would have changed it out. The breakfast is decent. The scrambled eggs tasted fresh. My husband liked the sausage. The fresh biscuits were goods. There were bagels and breads that I did not try. Coffee is available all day and in the evenings, fresh popcorn is available. The parking lot is easy to get in and out. There are several nearby good restaurants that are not chains. I'd stay again and recommend.

I don't normally give it a thought, but I checked for bedbugs as soon as I got to my room, but gladly found none... the mattress was in a bag. Room was very damp and uncomfortable, and there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, especially when I woke up this morning. Pillows were good. Cleanliness was OK, but there were some stray hairs on the bathroom floor. I woke up before 5 AM, and even though I needed more sleep, I decided to get up and leave because it was so damp and uncomfortable in the room. Coffee was undrinkable. Very weak. The person who brewed it probably never drank a cup in their life. I will NOT stay here again.

Our room was tidy, bathroom had a pink ring around the caulk and the door was very dirty as if they're never wiped. The washcloths were soft and felt like new towels. However the bath towels weren't soft and felt very old but were clean with no stains. I always bring my portable vacuum since I've never been in a hotel room that is well vacuumed. If you like soft , saggy mattress and don't care for thoroughly clean rooms then this is a great place to stay. I don't know how long that bug was nestled in the folds of the pillowcase probably there from the last fur baby who stayed in that room. Eeeek!! The staff is nice and gave us fresh omelette after we complained how hard the ones in the hot tray were. Now I've eaten enough leftovers in my life to know that this first breakfast omelettes and taters were from the day before and microwaved too much. The second and third days breakfast tasted fresher. The gym was well equipped as well has the pool area. The pool water was too cold for winter!! But it maybe me getting too cold in . I really wanted to swim so I toughed it out! The pool was clean no residue at bottom or slime on steps but tiles could be cleaner. I would consider staying here again if the rates are low as I don't mind sanitizing the room oh but the bugs! Well you know they say when you lay down with dogs lol!

My wife and I were traveling cross country to visit family and booked a reservation several days in advance. We got there a little after 10PM. My wife checked us in and it took a long time. She finally came back out and told me we were not allowed to stay there because of my service dog. I went in to inquire what was going on. The guy working the counter said that the way my wife filled out the form indicated that my dog wasn't a service dog. I told him he needs to contact the manager again and let him know it was illegal to deny entry to a service animal because of their form. He got the manager on the phone and relayed the information, but they just pointed back at a form. We were forced to find a new hotel late in the evening and the only other place available was more than double the cost but at this point we didn't have a choice and it was worth it to not stay there.

The staff were wonderful from check-in to check-out, and everything in between. My room was cleaned every other day. The only thing that was unpleasant was the musty smell - like a dirty man smell. Luckily I had my perfume and Lysol to keep it tolerable but I'm not sure if there was a possible drainage or mold issue. Also, the desk chair was wobbly, which I let front desk know about. I also felt like they could've tucked the bedsheets in better - but that's just my observation. This hotel also offered free breakfast each morning. I enjoyed their waffles. They also had a large parking lot, where I felt safe to leave our rental. There were plenty of parking spaces. This hotel seems to be pet-friendly, as there was a couple checking in with their dog. The hotel is within walking distance from a Kohl's and Walmart. Overall, it's a decent hotel with basic amenities. I did appreciate the walk-in shower with glass doors. I wouldn't mind staying here again. I'd probably ask to switch rooms if it smelled musty again. Lesson learned. But it was useful for my stay, as I only needed it for sleeping, showering, and storing my belongings while I was on business in the area.

There was a small store area by the desk that let you purchase snacks and drinks, but we didn't need anything. The lady that checked us in was very helpful and got us all setup, including giving us towels for the pool when we came down. The room was clean, spacious and perfect for our needs. We got a king suite and enjoyed having the fold out couch for our daughter to use. The free breakfast in the morning was nice, and had some better options than most others I have seen. The hot oatmeal bar and toppings was unique, as were the Gouda/ham croissant sandwiches. Would definitely stay at again!

So, this little rest stop is really a 3 or 4 star establishment. 4 stars because it's always pretty clean. 3 stars simply because it's small and doesn't offer a lot. BUT... both Indiana and Ohio decided to work on their rest areas at the same dang time, and apparently, my opinion did not make it into the docket of either state's government. 200 miles with no rest area. Awesome. So, guess what little buddy?? You're getting an upgrade! 5 stars because you are actually open for business. Well, done. (Update: Ohio's welcome center on I-70 is back open after months, but I didn't know this at the start of my trip.) Ok, today's playlistbecause you can learn a lot about a person not only from the type of music they like, but their road trip mix. That's not always the same thing! At least not for me, I listen to some random shiz that pops into my head when I'm on the road. I digress. I started with O.A.R. I am not a big "jam band" person, but I've always liked OAR a lot more than Dave. If you're curious, listen to the XX album. It's basically a greatest hits and has some of my favorite live tracks (Night Shift that leads into Stir It Up with an actual member of The Wailers). That lead me to a theme: songs with strings, horns and/or piano. I love rock with strings! And horns take me back to my love of ska music in the early 2000's. (I refrained from listening to any ska today because that would lead down a different rabbit hole). Led Zeppelin's Kashmir (just a perfect mix of strings and guitar. Led Zeppelin is also my favorite rock band of all time) Some of Metallica's S&M album. I'm not the biggest Metallica fan, but the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra on Nothing Else Matters is perfection! I seriously got goosebumps listening. For horns, I went with Paul Simon's You Can Call Me Al. A goofy little ditty with infectious horns. One of my favorite piano-heavy songs is Feelin' Alright by Joe Cocker. Whenever I hear this song, it makes me want to take up piano, again. At some point in my life, I WILL learn to play that breakdown at the 2:20 mark. Mark my words! Then, my mind went blank! Four decades of music knowledge, and I couldn't think of any other songs that featured strings or horns or piano that I wanted to hear. So, I took a hard left and turned to Dinosaur Jr. and somehow that led to Bush. I really love Bush! (Yep, the band, too) They were one of my favorite late 90's rock bands and Machinehead was my favorite modern rock song for a long time. Alright, that's my 15 cents for today. I need it back so I can get that dollar!
