I've purchased outfits from (the former) Jessica's, Unique's, and Sylvia's for dances, proms, award ceremonies, and everyday use. Their shoe section has fluctuated in size and styles over the years. Most recently they have gotten a large quantity of designer brands like Kate Spade, Trina Turk, and Diane von Furstenberg. Some of the pieces in their store are amazing, some leave me scratching my head wondering who is going to buy a $3,000 fur vest in South Texas. As of now, their pickings are slim, but their Brighton section still is top notch and they have a wonderful selection of moderately prices blouses at Unique's. They have a huge clearance section right now with stuff marked between 30% - 75% off. Their shoe section is also dwindling down - I think they're planning on renovating certain parts of the store. Unique's also has some new Kate Spade school supplies for those wanting to start their back-to-school shopping. Overall, Sylvia's & Unique's are still two must-go places to shop in McAllen.
