I was killing a little time in 'Como Lale Village' when shopping with Daughter a while ago. She…read morewent one way, I went the other. After tending to some banking needs, I decided to pop into the 'Dollar Store' for a peak while waiting for her return. I knew I did not have enough time for a serious look, but did have time to quickly scan a few aisles. I was really quite impressed with the size of this store, and large selection of offerings. It's a rather large store, with aisle after aisle of shelves, bins, and all, crammed full of various household and other assorted stuff & such, typical and not so typical of such stores. I did not see any fresh items - like bakery goods or the like - had hoped they might carry fresh bread, buns, and such, but no such luck. I am quite sure my lady would have a great time browsing inside this store. She enjoys the dollar-type stores, and from my brief sightings, this is definitely one for her to check out. Maybe for some Christmas holiday 'garnishes' or the like when we shopping in the the Village next?

I love this store as they offer such a variety of stuffs at low price. I always like to get here my…read moreevents decoration stuffs such as for birthdays and any celebration basically. But got a bit disappointed earlier today, I went in such a rush driving as I came all the way from Surrey trying to catch the store open before they close. Since there is no store like this in there. So I got there around 8:36, and asked the lady if I could have the birthday balloons decorations I needed to surprise my friend. This is around 8:40. Got told that she can't because apparently they close the helium tank by 8:30 or 8:40, and there's no chance she can do it she said. This is disappointing for not being so reliable coming to this kind of situation. I know I came and ask at 8:40. But still there is so much time to get it done. It's not like I wanted 100 balloons blown up. Some people have work and just got off but still try to make time and rush to be able to get what they need for the occasion. I have been to the other locations in the past getting the same things every time there is an event and I need something. This location is the only one who refused to put helium on the balloons, because it's already off by 8:30/40. Says that store closes at 9pm. But some of the resources inside are not even available by 8:30pm, is what's crazy. Just wanted to let everything out here, cause this simple thing ruined the whole plan for the surprise I have tonight. Not a reliable store.

the city of lougheed is in the middle of a major transformation, and it really shows. what used to…read morebe a fairly standard mall is evolving into a master planned urban community spanning 16 city blocks, and while it's still a work in progress, there's already a noticeable shift toward a more modern, experience focused space. one of the biggest advantages is the location. being directly connected to lougheed town centre station makes it an incredibly convenient hub, especially with access to multiple skytrain lines. it's easy to drop in whether you're commuting or just passing through. despite ongoing redevelopment, the mall remains functional with a solid mix of essentials and newer additions. the walmart supercentre continues to be a major anchor and is often busy. the new inclusive place of pickleball (ipop), which took over the old safeway space, is a standout addition and brings something genuinely different with its nine full size courts. the temporary cameron branch of the burnaby public library is also a welcome feature, offering a bright and useful community space while the permanent location is being rebuilt. retail is a mix of familiar staples and smaller specialty spots. you'll still find places like london drugs, miniso, reitmans, and fairweather, along with services like banking and insurance. shops like great wall tea co, kin's market, and purdy's add some character to the lineup. that said, the transition is very visible. there are quite a few closed storefronts and empty sections, which can make parts of the mall feel quiet or unfinished. it's clear the space is in between phases as it moves toward its future open air galleria design. where the mall really stands out right now is in its communal spaces. the eateries food court is modern, spacious, and comfortable, with lots of seating spread throughout. colourful murals brighten the area, and the indoor jungle playground is a highlight, especially for families. it adds energy to the space and makes it more than just a place to eat. food options are varied and convenient, with choices like opa, shiok express, spaghetti love bakehouse, steve's poke bar, sushi w, and bubble waffle. it's a good mix for both quick bites and casual meals, especially for people on the go. overall, the city of lougheed feels like a place in transition, but in a positive way. it's not fully there yet, and the empty spaces are noticeable, but the combination of transit access, community amenities, and new recreational features points to a much more vibrant future. even now, it works well as a practical stop and a growing social hub.

The food court had a great choice of Chinese, Persian, Indian, Japanese, fast food etc. The ramen noodle soup - Chashu Tonkotsu ($15.45 inc.) at the "Nikko Teriyaki" i had here was just excellent. There was a public library with free access to computer resources and career services too. Generally it's a shopping centre in upgrades. A Tim Horton's coffee shop was just at the entrance through to the Lougheed Sky Train station. Many banks services available at the other end of the mall.

I've popped in here a few times and also had one or two extended visits…read more I was enticed here having been to Bianca's other location in Surrey. Tldr: I would recommend you go there instead. The Coquitlam location has a rather poor layout with narrow aisles and food products spread throughout the store. Most of not all are past their best by date which you'll hear Bianca herself explaining does not mean they're expired. Yes she has her own in store promotional videos playing on repeat. Generally I would expect items that other supermarkets have passed on to be heavily discounted. Some of the prices here are competitive, others seem haphazard. It feels a bit slapstick as if the people who price items at value village are putting in a shift here. I digress - once in awhile you'll come across something good - perhaps popcorn or another snack, perhaps a gallon can of beans, perhaps a Nike swimsuit or t- shirt with some loose threads. Generally though, go in with low expectations and you might be surprised. Plenty of parking out front and the location is just around the corner from The Brick(& a value village).

On Tuesday it is seniors day on food so bring your parents and grandparents. The service was great as the cashiers will also ask the age of your parents and grandparents to see if they qualify on savings on food. This place has great value on well....everything! Pro-tip check the best before date on food as some items are past their best before dates but are still OK and priced cheaply because of it. If you need anything for your home including rugs, appliances, toys, clothes they have that too. In a way this place is like a super dollar store where you can still find a lot of things for less. Your dollar will go father at Bianca Amor's!
