I've never seen so many people bent halfway into bins, tossing things and grabbing things. There's an app where you can reserve a number to get inside in a more civilized manner but that doesn't stop people from acting like lunatics. She has a bladder condition. While we were shopping, she suddenly had an emergency and desperately needed to use the restroom. I saw a restroom toward the back of the store that appeared to be open, but there were some plastic barriers around it. I went to find an employee and explained the situation, asking if she could please let my daughter use the restroom. She initially told me that they did not have a restroom. I told her that I had just seen it, and she then said, "Yes, we have a bathroom, but not for you to use. If you want to use the bathroom, go to Safeway." I found the way she spoke to me completely unacceptable, especially after I explained that my daughter was having an emergency and could not wait. I was not asking for anything unreasonable; I was simply asking for help during an emergency involving my child. I am a frequent customer at this store, so this experience was especially disappointing. I truly hope management provides better training to their employees and teaches them to show more empathy, respect, and compassion, especially when dealing with children and emergency situations. The products and prices may be good, but customer service and the way customers are treated matter just as much.
