Sherrell and Jennifer W. went BEYOND our expectations with customer service! Manager Sherrell blow our expectations by updating our mattress (to be better one!) and gave us free delivery. Unfortunately, we had to go back because we didn't like the "Twilight" mattress. Hello firm lovers! Jennifer W. welcomed us with a cheery smile and we were able to exchange our mattress without any problems. We will be requesting Jennifer W. or Sherrell for all of our future purchases!! If you want be taken care of, the right way and the FIRST time, request Jennifer W. or manager Sherrell. You'll thank me!

I had a very disappointing experience at Bob's Discount Furniture in Dover, DE…read more I work long hours, so most of my free time to shop is in the evening. The store advertises hours of 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, so I planned my visit accordingly. I arrived on Monday, July 6, 2026, around 8:15 PM. After about 10 minutes of looking around, a salesman greeted us. He was polite at first, but he was trying to assist us while also helping another customer. It was obvious multi tasking is not for him , and we never really received the attention needed for such a large purchase. Around 8:40 PM, the music was turned off. I was by the coffee and cookie station getting my child a cookie when a woman I assumed was the manager (dark hair in a bun) began putting away the coffee and refreshments. Loud enough for customers to hear, she told the salesman, "Yep, it's time to go home. Time to close up." The problem was that the store didn't close for another 20 minutes. Whether there were 20 minutes left or only 5, that's not how customers should be made to feel. The message was clear: they were more interested in getting everyone out the door than helping customers. Shopping for furniture is a major purchase that takes time, and once we felt rushed, we had no desire to continue. I completely understand that employees want to go home after a long shift, but if your posted hours say you're open until 9:00 PM, customers should receive the same level of service until 9:00 PM--not feel like an inconvenience because they came in during business hours. That interaction made me question what kind of customer service I'd receive after the sale if there were ever a problem. If customers are treated like an inconvenience before they've even made a purchase, it's hard to have confidence in the company afterward. We decided to leave without buying anything. The next morning we went to Ashley Furniture in the neighboring shopping center, where we were welcomed, never felt rushed, and ended up purchasing our living room furniture there instead. Unfortunately, Bob's Discount Furniture lost a sale because customer service ended before the store's posted business hours did.

Today, for instance I waited from 3:00 PM to after 5:00 PM. I called the HELP line and was informed they were 4 hours behind. Finally cancelled the order and LEFT. I've found this Sam's Club a real help for entertaining and even purchasing regular groceries. The…read morequality of the groceries, especially meats and cheeses, is outstanding and they carry the bread I like in two packs, meaning that even this single person can buy a reasonable amount and put one in the freezer and one on the counter. The eggs are terrific, you can get pasture-raised, cage free or just standard eggs. The fruit is hit or miss, and the selection of veg is limited but what there is, is excellent. I buy the mini peppers, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, all excellent. Alas, the onions and potatoes are in larger bags than I can use. So I have a friend who likes to split some orders with me. Milk is more difficult, cottage cheese is only in large tubs. Good for a family, not so good if you are a single person or even a duo. There are prepared foods, and party trays. And the sushi is good though it tends to have some kind of hot sauce on it (local preference.) The baked goods are so good, we gift our clients the pies at holiday time, and the cakes are also good. Previously, for our pie giveaway, we had gone up to Costco (a horror show in horror-show Christiana) and the pies weren't any better and were priced a bit more. Getting in and out of Dover Sam's is a piece of cake compared to dealing with Christiana. If you are trying to stretch a dollar or you are doing entertaining, this place is a gold mine. I haven't done much with the non-food items except bought slippers. The dog food is also the one my pooches like and costs less per can. The lines can be long; the self checkout will have an associate to help you and even the full-service line moves quickly. There is "scan and go" but I haven't tried this out (I think you scan items with your phone and it tots up your order as you get ready to depart.) I went two days before Christmas Eve (I know, crazy) and it was quite bearable, though you couldn't get near the rotisserie chickens--the line for the freshly made ones was down an entire aisle. The associates I have dealt with have all been extremely friendly. Summary: If you have a big family or do a great deal of entertaining, the membership will pay for itself many times over. You may find the quality is better than the local grocery store.
