Plus, there are several dining options near by that I love (I am looking at you, San Pedro cafe). The back of the store has a vintage area with ample non-bookish gifts. I found the book selection extremely small, and this wouldn't be my first stop if seeking a new book to read. Further, the organization of the shelved books felt wild with genres seemingly mixed. The staff were pleasant and helpful; and I, also, appreciated the parking in front of the store.

The employees here are always friendly and ready to help if I have any questions. I do not take a brick and mortar bookstore in a small town for granted. Staff here is really friendly and they have a fair selection of snacks and drinks. The hot food section is pretty overpriced . Vegan selection is pretty small and minimal in my opinion. They didn't have a variety of the drinks that I want. Not even that, most of these shelves were pretty empty as well. There's a big parking lot and it's by the highway. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my visit here. I did take advantage of a few deals!

J & E is, basically, 2 large heated pole buildings that are packed with antique furniture. It's a residential neighborhood. The storage buildings are behind the house of Lonnie, the owner. Since this is his home, he's open by appointment. I didn't realize until I talked to him for a while that Lonnie used to be one of the owners of J & E in St. Paul. They were on Arcade, near the 3M plant for decades! This is where everything went after they closed - Lonnie's pole buildings. After decade in the business, Lonnie really knows his stuff. This stuff aint cheap. There's hardly anything under $1000. Many of the pieces are in the $3000, $4000, and $5000 price range. And some items are 6 figures, like huge early 1900s bars with carved wood and stained glass. If you like this style and if you have a big enough wallet, I suggest you stop by. Lonnie is getting up there in years. He won't be around forever. But you can buy it now and it's only a short drive from the Twin Cities. BTW, Lonnie is a really nice guy. They had two whoppin-ator size bags of movie theater style popcorn bags. Tempting, but far too much popcorn. They have fountain drinks, with the "shot of" option. There are two center islands with an array of deli sandwiches that actually look good and edible and not like your typical gas station mystery sandwich. The other island has these amazing cheese curds in garlic, ranch, plain and jalapeno which better as they get warm. Love the garlic ones. There about $5.00 a bag. AND most important, they carry a large amount of the Country Fresh meat sticks. Nice, clean and well stocked convenient store! Will certainly swing back through.

I've been watching a pair of 1951 Reglor Lamps advertised in Facebook Marketplace, showing a photo of them in the front window. I happened to be meeting a friend for lunch in Hudson so I made sure to bring $400 cash and to stop in after our meal. 1. Apparently, the lamps are no longer in the store. But the 2 staff running the shop couldn't tell me anything about them. Where are they? Why are they still listed in Facebook? 2. The worst part of the interaction was I got the "fake polite" treatment. Friendly but not really friendly and more passive aggressive, if you know what I mean. I'm used to that treatment in Minnesota. It seems to be part of our cultural DNA. But I'm surprised to encounter it in Wisconsin. 3. The staff running the shop weren't able to access the store listing on Facebook. Why? 4. When I got home, I sent a direct message to the store on Facebook from their listing to ask about the lamps. Are they gone? Why is there still an active listing? 5. It's been 8 days. The listing is still up. No one has answered my direct message on Facebook. All of this stuff is ridiculous. Everyone knows that is takes 30 seconds to respond to a message on Facebook. All of these negative vibes could have been avoided if someone simply responded to me, apologized, promised to do better next time, and to request that I please visit again. I'd still be a customer. As it is now, I'll never walk through the front door again. So...I'm feeling pretty negative about Abigail Page. I guess they're okay if you wander in off the street, buy something off a shelf, and walk out with your item. But if you see something on-line, buyer beware. This particular Walmart falls into a category of somewhere between a Target and a Dollar store. Maybe a lean toward the latter. Not too dumpy, but just enough to get you thinking hmmm, where have I seen this before. I'll tell you where, that mess of a dollar store across the 94. What an ugh that place is. The shelves are pretty well stocked and there is quite a variety from which to choose. Speaking of variety, you'll find it in the employees too. Some talkative, some not so much. Some friendly, some not so much. Some interesting, some VERY interesting. But before I get into trouble with the PC crowd I'll leave it at that. Even rich folk like to save a buck. So if you drive a Mercedes, there are plenty of parking stalls for you to park across. But then that would draw too much attention. You're better off letting your butler do the shopping. Quick Tip: Go to the bathroom before you leave the house. For the life of me I couldn't find one there. I guess that I could have kept looking, but it's hard to walk with your legs crossed.
