BUT Family Dollar has a lot of great steals for great prices. For example, I found a 3 pack of beautifully painted canvas art for $10. $10 for 3 pictures that looked exactly like something you'd find at Target for $39.99--who knew?? I surely did not. I went in just to look around and came out with a bag full of stuff! They had a little bit of everything from room decor to handsoap. They also had plenty of seasonal items (for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) for low prices. And to my surprise, they even had inexpensive make up. To top off my positive shopping experience, my cashier was very pleasant. I saw the brightly colored weave and misjudged her. I expected her to be loud and rude. But she was very sweet. The manager even came out of the back and helped bag. I was satisfied with my experience and would shop here again.

In the first 2 weeks I turned down 2 other jobbecause I wanted this job for so many reasons and I was told I had it I just think that was lousy very unprofessional and it's just messed up because I probably be better than her at her job and that's what sadit's sad that you allow people in your company to work like this and treat other people like this. This visit I was returning merchandise, but found a really cute clutch on sale for $7.99 and a random pack of Kleenex 8 pack pocket tissue for 2 bucks. The men's section looked fully stocked and had a much better selection of shoes than women's. The store was packed with merchandise for the most part. They have a really nice plus size section. They need help in the dress department. They have a small home-goods section which some cool pieces. The clearance rack was full, with an abundance of mostly boring sweaters. They entice you with candy and sweets in the check out line. There was only one cashier working the register, but she was quick and efficient. Security is very active at this location, as stated in previous reviews. My only complaint is that it's located in a super, dicey area of town, be vigilant. Not a place I would go often, but definitely a hidden gem.....during daylight hours.

Sometimes a few items will fill out the shelves for the holidays, but the other main areas of the store just do not have anything. I assume part of the problem is theft but it's disappointing since you normally expect that you can just pop into the Dollar Tree and get $20-$40 of inexpensive decent quality goods with a reasonable selection. Here it's really slim pickings. I used to come here for quick hit items that I didn't feel like going into the nearby Giant foodstore for, but now I just walk in and walk out empty-handed and am kind of forced to go to Giant. I hope it doesn't go out of business because I think the community over there needs this store as a resource, but to all good things come an end. You can't make sales if the shelves are empty.
