I didn't have to look for the largest size in the entire store to maybe squeeze myself into an unflattering cut. 2. The racks are arranged neatly and the clearance section is well kept. So I wasn't brushing dirt off of everything I tried on. And if I liked a style I just went down the rack to find my size. 3. Nobody was hovering. There wasn't a crazed store associate looking like she would rip her own kidney out and sell it if only I promised to buy one outfit. (It's happened) 4. Despite the fact it's expensive the clothes are all well made. No cheap material. No random holes you don't see until you get it home. The quality matches the price. Favorite Things is a cozy shop nestled among a line of similarly charming shops near the Ohio and Muskingum rivers in downtown Marietta. My wife and I love to start our river crawl at the antiques shop by the Ohio River, and gradually, shop by shop, make our way down Front Street until we can rest our feet and sink our teeth into a block of fudge at Favorite Things. Accompanied by fresh coffee, naturally. Honestly I would never eat fudge except here. I think it's a Marietta tradition, or should be. Make a note, whomever is keeping track of such things!

I drove in on Sunday, and wasn't sure anyone was home yet, so popped in here to kill some time. To say that this is an overwhelming experience for someone not familiar with Gabe's is an understatement. First stop, the West Virginia section of just everything West Virginia - shirts, sweatshirts, long sleeve tee's blankets, stadium blankets, football WVU branded items - for men, women, children, baby, household and oh what prices. $3 to roughly $20 made for exceptional stocking stuffers for me. As a side note, I went back two more times in my 5 day stay in Parkersburg. You cannot take it all in, in one visit. I bought a pair of velvet Talbots red (perfect for Christmas!) slacks for $7, with the tag for $128 still attached. The downside of this is that I didn't realize until I got back to New Jersey that the security tag is STILL ON! (so still need to figure that one out). Got a J Crew blouse for $2, not a tshirt, a nice black blouse. What you need to keep in mind is that you will need to spend a good bit of time going through racks and racks of items with absolutely no rhyme or reason as to how they display them. Not by size, not by season, not by anything. But you will have fun.

I recently bought a utility trailer hitch receiver for my trailer…read more Got it home and found it wasn't going to work. Returned it to Harbor Freight 3 days later unused, exactly like I had purchased it,and had my original receipt. Employees refused to take it back unless I showed them my drivers license, I had ridden with my wife and didn't have my license on me at the moment. Spoke with the manager, same story no refund with out my drivers license, even though I had the original receipt in my hand. By this time I'm livid, asked why you need to see my license when I have the original purchase receipt in my hand. Told the manager I didn't have to show my license when I bought it...Her reply was "sorry company policy". At that time I handed her the hitch receiver, and informed her that over the past several years I had spent several hundreds if not thousands of dollars with Harbor Freight, and to enjoy the 23 dollars that I had paid for the receiver, because it would be the last penny I would ever spend in a Harbor Freight store. The only reason I'm giving them 1 star on their rating is because I don't know how to give them a negative star rating.
