I'm traveling and forgot my flat iron. I was pleased to find a Remington flat iron that can be used on both wet and dry hair for only $20. I purchased and tried it today. Worked great! I would highly recommend this product and for the price you can't beat it! While standing in line to purchase my items, the customer in front of me had a buggy full of toys. She told me she couldn't beat the price. That's how I found out about the sale. So I brought my parents back today so we could purchase toys for my great niece and nephews. I spent $42, and bought four toys. This is the cheapest I've ever gotten away with spending for toys. And they have brand name toys you've heard of such as Fisher Price, My Little Pony Mickey Mouse, and many more! Apparel is buy one get one 50% off this week. That includes clothes, pajamas, shoes and accessories. What you see on the shelf is all they have as we asked about a male scooter and all they had left were the female pink ones. First, I had to wait on her for a solid 10 minutes in an empty store during a heat wave. I had a lot on my mind. When she finally appeared to assist the sick cashier with a menial task, I misspoke. She was already clearly rubbed the wrong way, and that just shifted her into a different level of rude. She began ignoring my transaction-related questions, rolling her eyes and sighing, put my change on the counter, and spoke down to me. Regardless of whether or not I'm inconveniencing her, even for a second longer, should ~not~ have been evident in this "leader's" behavior. I will do all I can to avoid this conveniently located Family Dollar due to this manager's behavior. I will be be spreading the word. I want her leadership to know. I have shopped at this location many times over the years for such things as gas for the grill, paper products and over the counter drug items. On my last visit I noticed a self-checkout register just before the cashier waited on me LOL. I've never seen a self-checkout at any Dollar General so I was pleasantly surprised. You can find just about anything at the Dollar General. And they have some of the lowest prices around. And don't forget to clip your online coupons to save more money. The customer in front of me saved nearly $22 by using online coupons, I heard the cashier say. Not too shabby! Service always includes a smile and a friendly thank you;)

The store had a garden section, lots of toys, some food, cleaning products and much more. I learned today they also have a nice selection of flower stems. Plus, Mom found a huge bag of peppermint hard candy and I found a package of bubbles for my nieces and nephews. Service is friendly but typically slow, with only one register open every time I've visited. But the prices are worth the wait. Stop in as you never know what bargains you might find.

On this trip I was looking for a dog bed as I forgot to pack Simba's bed for my trip home to my parents house. Simba's bed is his safe space so I couldn't make him go without it while we were traveling. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Serta Orthopedic large dog bed for $35. I've seen these beds in other stores and they are almost double this price. So I purchased the bed. I chose the darker color as a light color is not a good idea lol. Simba is adjusting nicely to his new bed! There were two customers in front of me when I got in line to check out. Within a few minutes there were several customers in line behind me. The cashier called for back up and in no time I was next in line and out the door. Big Lots will not disappoint no matter where you live!

I purchased a night stand a very long time that I still use. I stopped by to check for a mattress pad. I found a two inch memory foam cover for $60. It has a ten year warrantee. I hope to make the couch bed more comfortable;) I also found some dried fruit for snacking reasonably priced. Check out was pretty quick. It was a Sunday morning so they only had one cashier. She was friendly! I wish I had longer to check out the entire store as you never know what great deals you might find at Big Lots!
