This is one of the best Dollar Trees I've ever been to. It was very neat aisles; I constantly see the staff going around adjusting the items on the shelves. In some Dollar Trees, the floors have a yellow, beat-up, hue to them, but in this one the floors pop a bit, which shows that the management is serious about cleanliness. The staff here is extremely helpful too. This is one of my favorite places to go to when I need a shower curtain or some bleach. read more

Who doesn't love the dollar store?! Ok they might not have impeccable customer service, but I go there for the cheap prices not to make friends. Yes some of the employees are rude and could care less about making the customer happy, but when I'm saving $20-$30-$40 each trip, I don't care!! You can buy so much stuff here on the cheap that sometimes I find myself second guessing how this business makes money. They have food, hygiene, home goods, literally so many things that are $5-$10 more at other stores. Bottom line, if you're smart with your money, you need to be shopping here! read more

Okay, I'm upset. Not at the Dollar Tree because they are freaking awesome! No, what's got me upset is that the Dollar Tree closer to me doesn't have half the stuff the Dollar Tree on Hylan has, plus this one is way more organized! Anywho, they have the basic stuff you expect to find at D.T. and they have loads of holiday décor, food/snacks, stuff to decorate your house with and more stuff. i freakin' LOVE this place. LOVE it. the prices are insatiable (duh... a DOLLAR!). however, the products sold here are that of a better quality and major brands in good quality are sold here as well. i mean, why the hell would i pay $3.99 for a jug of juice with the same expiration date at the grocery store when i can pay $1.00 for the same thing? from tools, cooking supplies, accessories, bath/body products and food... i seriously heart this place. read more

As far as dollar stores go, this one is not bad at all. They have a great selection of items and to my delight they even have an entire wall of fake flowers! They even have a frozen food section. I recommend going early morning on a weekday - there are virtually no lines and you'll score a parking spot right in front! read more

As far as dollar stores go, it's all right. The bulk of the merchandise is things that really OUGHT to be a dollar or less, as opposed to brand-name closeouts, although occasionally you can find a good deal. However, the real reason to go here is that they tend to have an excellent selection of sparkly holiday and seasonal decor (hello Halloween and Xmas decorating!), and they have perfectly acceptable new greeting cards for only 50 cents apiece. read more

The people that work here are friendly and helpful. The store in general has everything you most likely are looking for and EVERYTHiNG, no matter what you buy is no more than $1.00. Any little small items you need, you'll most likely find them here. Most of the employees are nice and the managers are friendly. This store is so unorganized! The best thing about it is obviously the price, everything for $1. Their cards are 2 for $1. They do have seasonal items or last minute necessities for a gift, as well as balloons. They have items for your house, such as cleaning products and paper goods. Lines can be long & cashiers do move slow. Not to mention the parking lot it is located in is absolutely horrible! For last minute finds, it's great. As others have observed, there's nothing truly distinctive about this Dollar Tree. You'll see the type of items you'd expect to find at a dollar store. The best selection is probably seasonal, e.g. Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving. I found a nice addition to my Halloween costume earlier today. The employees are friendly and prompt, and it isn't overly crowded, which is a plus. read more

NIGHTMARE Customer Experience ordering from Dollar Tree Direct! Needing Candles for my wedding, I felt it would be practical, AFFORDABLE and efficient to order from Dollar Store direct. Boy was that far from the truth! I ordered the items and had it shipped to my local Dollar Tree in East Brunswick, New Jersey. THE DAY BEFORE, I was scheduled to pick up, I got a phone call from Dollar Tree corporate informing me that the store location was CLOSED for construction and that the truck had no further choice but to drop the boxes at the STATEN ISLAND location more than 50 MILES AWAY from my home in New Jersey, not to mention a different state completely. Wanting the delivery and pick up to just be over with, I contact a friend who lived in Staten Island to pick up the order the day it was scheduled to arrive. I called the Stated Island store in advance and they said they would call me back when it was unloaded. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. Two days later, I get a call from the original local location saying although they are closed, they will be at the store for me to pick up. This was to my confusion because last I heard, the order was in Staten Island.. WHY HAVE AN IN-STORE PICK UP AS AN OPTION ON THE WEBSITE WHEN THE STORE IS CLOSED FOR REPAIRS?! WHY SHIP THE CASE MORE THAN 50 MILES AWAY AS AN ALTERNATIVE WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING THE CUSTOMER OR SUGGESTING A STORE WITHIN 1 MILE OF THE CLOSED LOCATION? WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RETURNING CUSTOMER CALLS? I am a loyal dollar tree shopper and was considering sourcing MORE items for my wedding via dollar tree direct but NOT NOW. Will miss this place when it closes. I go here at least once a week and have bought so many things. Everything from holiday decor to eggs, cat food, brand name food, books, kitchen tools, etc. went to the Forest Ave location and was very disappointed in its lack of organization and the amount of boxes that appeared to have been in the aisles for a while that were ripped open, contents all over the floor and lack of stock. The only thing good about this store is that everything is a dollar. Their employees are rude, and uninterested. I've seen them on their cell phones while stocking the shelves and they'll carry on personal conversations with other employees while ringing you up. The lines here are usually really long with not enough registers open. It really is such a shame because every other dollar tree I've ever been to is great. read more
