One time I was looking for plain old candles for a cake and I couldnt find anything. They only had unicorn shaped ones on toothpicks or numbered candles. Today I went in and I thought maybe they were one of the ones closing since the company went backrupt because when you walk in there was one isle of halloween skeletons, and lots of empty shelves which normally had items on them. The shelves along the wall and the ones in the middle were empty. Maybe there were waiting for more halloween stuff to come in. They only had some camping themed stuff, and a lot of tiki stuff. Also two isles of 4th of july things that I don't think were discounted and it's july 24th. I often look at the pez, but they normally have the same inventory. They have quite a selection of themed party supplies for kids which is nice and by color. I hope they get more inventory because it's slim pickings right now. Also, they never have anyone at the front cashiers checking out, ive always had to akwardly stand at the balloon counter and wait for someone to be available there to ring me out.

I once called Andrew (the owner) and asked if there was any way he could deliver 500 filled up baloons to a funeral that we were doing a balloon release at the next day and with no hesitation, he agreed and his team showed up right on time with all of the balloons. The way he runs his business and team is amazing, as he's one of the most efficient people I've ever met. He has been in the business long enough that he can offer up suggestions on your event if you'd like, or he can find a way to do almost anything you need him to do. I would highly recommend using Special Events Alaska for any of your party planning needs. They have never failed us and make me look good, every time.

I brought in two large number balloons from two separate packages to have them filled with helium…read more While filling the first one, the employee told me it might be defective because there seemed to be a small leak, although she couldn't find where it was coming from. She made it sound like it should still hold up until the party later that day, so I left with it. Unfortunately, within just a few hours it was noticeably deflated and looked ridiculous--and the second balloon did the exact same thing. Since these were two completely separate balloons from separate packages, it seems pretty unlikely that both just happened to be defective. I spent about $25 just to have the two balloons filled with helium, only for both to lose their helium before the party. The huge, partially deflated numbers looked miserable in the party decorations, and it was especially disappointing for the birthday child. What bothered me most was that I wasn't offered any solution before leaving, even though it was already known that at least one of the balloons was leaking. I spent more than $45 in the store altogether that day and essentially wasted the money I paid for the helium. Very disappointing experience. Wish I had taken a photo of the miserable balloons but they went straight in the trash following the party ending. What a waste. I'll try Michael's next time for helium, probably cheaper there too. I also noticed how the employee helping me isn't very friendly. I've been in here a few times before over the years and never felt like this. I don't know if this woman is new, but she doesn't represent the company well for customer service.
