This is a great addition to the South Burnaby area. I like Smart N Save in Richmond as it carries…read moresnacks and stuff from Asia which are not that common. So it is fantastic to find one in this neighborhood. It's at Royal Oak and Rumble, across from the Buy Low store plaza and diagonally across from Chevron. The parking lot is pretty small and tight. There are plenty of street parking on Rumble side. For the grand opening, there is a 12% discount the entire store, excluding the hot food from the cafe. The cafe is just a small area selling hot snacks like Siu mai, fishballs, rice rolls and waffles. I saw many getting the combo (all 3 savory items) and the waffle smelled yummy. It reminded me of the street food in Asia. I found mini prawn rolls and prawn crackers from Indonesia. My favorite snack! There are many other stuff from Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and more. This is a dangerous place as I overheard a young girl telling her mom. Just too many things I want to get. In the end I just bought the mini prawn rolls, lays seaweed flavor chips that comes in a box, white pepper, and curry paste. I'll try the hot food from the cafe next time when I'm not too full.

Yay! Finally the store opened. This replaced the old 7 Eleven store that was here. They have so…read moremuch Asian snacks. They are having 12% discount on grand opening. I picked up a few snacks. This location seems to have less items compared to the Richmond location but hopefully that will change. Prices are reasonable. Note that this location also serves hot food. Unfortunately when I went, it was all sold out.

Not a bad store. Dollarama is just a name now. Not everything is a dollar due to inflation. I came…read morehere and picked a few things. The store is nice and neatly organized. The tills are all self serve now which is great. It really speed up the process of checkout plus I guess it saves space at their end by not having many tills. The store is somewhat weird, you have to walk into Station Square mall and then into Dollarama. The store is busy any time of the day. Free parking is available nearby.

As a transit user, I like how it's just a minute walk away from the metrotown skytrain station and…read morebus loop. Also, I usually shop later in the day so I like that they close late at 10pm on most days. I like taking a peek inside before taking the bus/skytrain on the way home. It's a smaller store so the selection isn't as vast as other bigger dollaramas. Usually I find at least one cool item but I didn't find anything interesting so i left empty handed on this visit. The thing i learned from shopping at dollarama is that if you find something cool, just get it because chances are it won't be there anymore or you would have to return to the same location to find it again because other locations are sold out of the cool item. The items they have pretty much are the usual items you'd find at any other dollarama. They have a whole aisle dedicated to christm2as even though halloween hasn't happened yet which i found kinda funny. A few months ago, they only had one or two staff at the checkout area with no self serve machines. One big change recently is they put in at least 4 self-serve checkout machines. The checkout lines are much faster because of this. My friend used the self serve kiosk and it looked really simple to use, which is great. I like that it talks through every step as well. Overall, the self serve checkouts are a welcome addition but i'd recommend going to a bigger dollarama for better item selection if you're actually looking for dollar store stuff. I'm in the metrotown area a lot so I'll definitely come back once in a while and see if they have something cool or useful (but cheap!) to buy. 3 stars.

You can choose betwene spicy pork or bulgogi beef. The amount is smaller but the price is lower. At the time I went, the side was a small shrimp tempura. The taste of the meat dishes arent that great but it's a filling meal for a low price. Right outside the entrance there is a bungeobbang shop. You have to go inside order via the cashier first and then come out to tell the person to make it. Comes out piping hot and delicious.

If H-Mart opens in the area too, then people do not have to go all the way to North Road for Korean sundries and food. The parking can be tight, especially those facing the store entrance. Street parking is also available. It closes at 10 pm, later than Club Ribbon, so it's great for those late night snack. The service is ok. A staff member mumbled twice to me in Korean. I didn't realized she was talking to me until I clued in that maybe she was. I said I don't speak Korean and she said no pictures. There was no signage stating no photography. Frankly in today's age, taking photos is akin to breathing. It's useful to send pictures to people, asking if they want the item or ask what that's used for. It's not only to post online. She was pretty rude about it too. The opening promotion has good discounts with some items at 50% off. Sign up for the membership and get extra 5000 points.
