Hey it's still cheaper than a lot of places. But now I'm seeing that prices on some repeat items (like baggies) are @ par with other stores & I am wondering if my need to shop there will diminish if they can't keep offering prices like they have in the past. I've become a bit Dollarama obsessed. This one is a bit "People of Walmart" and feels kind of poky but still manages to have a huge selection of everything. I love the cheapness. And I love that I can find pretty much everything in here from chocolate to feather boas through stuff for the garden I don't have, stickers and generic Pepcid. I've spent many, many happy minutes wandering up and down the aisles in some kin of fugue state wondering if I need a garden gnome for my balcony, or if I have any use for a packet of Canada pencils. The housewares are actually pretty good and you can't compain about mugs for $1.25. I also really like their 74% cocoa chocolate which is a steal for $1.50/100g. I think I prefer it to Lindt! Downsides-slightly dodgy patrons at times and a mildly scruffy look. But I'll completely take that for the savings. I'm a fan. read more

Dollarama is where I go on my lunch hour when I'm trying to be "thrifty". (Working in Yorkville can burn a hole in your wallet if you do too much lunchtime shopping) It's a great place to get cheap everything. This one in particular has a larger than average selection of candy and food products for a dollar store. They also have awesome seasonal decor, I like to buy my Christmas decorations here and greeting cards for people I don't like very much. Also stock stationary items, cleaning products, cheap kitchen stuff, toys and gifts. There is always a huge queue to pay at lunch hour, but it usually moves quickly enough. read more

I see that a fellow Yelper has opened her review with "This Place is So Dangerous". She is right, but I have quite a different set of reasons for why this particular Dollarama is dangerous. 1. Unfriendly Staff: compared to other Dollarama locations, this one seems severely understaffed and grumpy. I don't blame them though, because of reasons 2 & 3. 2. Small and Extremely Poor Layout: I won't even go into the fluorescent lighting because I understand this is a dollar store, but the store is so suffocating because of its cheap product fumes and the minuscule store size. The aisles are as narrow as they can get and peeps are as inconsiderate as they can get = not a good mix. The cashier station needs to be rotated 90 degrees so that the whole front of the store won't be congested like whoa. Seriously, just a tiny spatial optimization would do them a whole lot of good - I would almost volunteer to do it myself for minimal wages... 3. Has More Than Its Fair Share of Crazies: If you know me in person, you know that I am very kind to strangers. BUT what I cannot stand is people who are RUDE to the people around them when they are clearly able to understand the basic concepts of respect and logic. I have been harassed/witnessed harassment at this store too many times while waiting in line to pay for my regular fix of $1 Hickory Sticks. If Hickory Sticks weren't so good and this location wasn't on my way to and from things so often, I would stay far away from this location of Dollarama. read more

The thing I can't get past is the toxic smell of this Dollarama. I was even reluctant to enter with a baby but decided to just quickly take a peek. The aisles are really narrow, the lighting dim, ventilation poor, and the fumes from all the plastic merchandise is overwhelming. Collage Park Dollarama is a million times better!!! read more

I have not been in a Dollarama in a long time, mainly due to the fact that I did not really want a cheap chocolate bar or drink which I happen to buy everytime in the past. However, one day I stumble upon this location near Yonge station and figured that I need a sugar fix without spending so much money on anywhere else. The place and atmosphere just felt claustrophobic to me, Dollarama is always been as large as a grocery store with place and somewhat labels on their aisles. However, this place did not have that and I have to run around in a circle until I get what I want. Unfortunately, the thing that I want wasn't there but I found that they have White Chocolate covered pretzels that costs $1.25 and I was so stoked to try them out. Since they are dirt cheap, it seems that they dip those salted pretzels into white chocolate and it felt like a mixture of salt and white chocolate which at first was disgusting but it was decent. I still rather go to bulk barn and get these. read more

It's a Dollarama and the prices don't differ from any other Dollarama. Likes: -They have an escalator -They are underground -Cheap household accessories and other stuff. Dislikes: -The layout is kind of odd. It's like a T shape mixed in with an L shape. So it can be hard to find stuff. For example, plastic cutlery is not in the same aisle as the paper cups. Not sure what else to say, but if you've been to one Dollarama, you've been to them all. Just the layout differs from store to store. read more

Woe betide the person who receives a birthday card from yours truly. In my family, we have a ritual. We select the most inappropriate card available, and desecrate it with all manner of foul and vulgar profanity. And Justin Bieber stickers. Lots of Justin Bieber stickers. Especially if the card is designated for my father. Dollarama is an excellent source of inexpensive cards (surprisingly, they usually ring in at about a dollar). Even better, they have an excellent selection of age-inappropriate cards for the Zoomer Strawberry Shortcake fan in your life. Better still, they have a wide assortment of religiously-themed cards, which is awesome when you don't practice said religion, but want to hedge your bets. Sugar junkies will appreciate an aisle full of name brand chocolate bars and candy. Office drones might prefer the dollar bottles of Diet Coke. If you're looking for party favours or decorations, I recommend Dollarama highly. If you're looking for groceries to survive the coming zombie apocalypse, I guess you could do worse. I'd stay away from the housewares. And the staff. They kinda scare me. read more

I love this Dollarama - considering the location, its huge and it carries quite a lot of different things. I was there tonight (and I go at least 2x a week) and to they're actually moving lots of things around so the whole store makes a bit more sense. My favourite section is the containers section, where i've gotten quite a lot of variously sized plastic containers for my pantry and kitchen. The food section isn't bad either - if you can get past the fact that you're buying food at the dollar store, you'll start saving quite a bit of money on things like rice and snack food like candy and chips. It's usually busy but they have a huge seasonal selection and I rarely walk out without having purchased something. Love the fact that I spend $12-15 and walk out with a bag full of stuff! read more

Dollarama is a reliable place to pick up those little household items that you would pay through the nose for at Shoppers, Canadian Tire etc. I can always find what I need here (after some searching as they seem to change the layout quite a lot). The lineups are always long but they move fast. It seems that they have recently updated their registers as you can now pay by debit (not sure about credit). Don't even think about trying to return anything as all products are final sale. I find Dollarama great for things like light bulbs, hand soaps, cleaning products etc., but to be honest I probably wouldn't by perishable foods here. read more

Clean and organized for a dollar store. Sure they have some cheesy stuff, but you can get so many useful things here! The prices are awesome. Shower organize for $1.50?! Awesome. They had a really good beginner's hammer for $3 and some awesome rugs and things for the house as well as A CANDY ISLE. Go here on your way to the movies, to get a quick gift, or something for the house. Careful about checking out. Cashiers are not thrilled to do their job and the check out lanes are jammed up by the entrance making it a bubblemuck. read more

I purchased a defective pencil sharpener at 8190 Bayview Ave, Thonrhill location and they did not honor to exchange and refund it. I spoke with the store manager; Marilee and she was incompetent. The store had friendly staff. With the exception of the district manager which was a total meanie. He bullies his staff and is a total sadist in power. The products have gone down in quality over years and the prices are no longer cheap. I understand that the economy has to be kept up with. One of the older woman on the staff is rude, don't yell at customers because you're under staffed, as always lines are always long. I also don't understand how every single employee, at each Dollarama store, works at such a slow pace at checkout.. Is it really that hard to swipe a barcode? Place has no AC and one fan at the back. Dollarama as a whole - keeps rasing their prices on the same items with terrible quality/quanity items. They have some better items here, but I'd rather make a trip to Absolute Dollar at Gerrad Square. Their prices range much more but majority are $1 and much more choices and quality. read more

as far as dollar stores go, dollarama is as good as it gets. this particular location is really great too. as a native new yorker, i was shocked to see a chain of dollar stores within the downtown core of a city. the first time i lived in toronto i was in yorkville and discovered this dollarama (well, i don't know if you could call it "discovering"-- the signage is pretty obnoxious)-- and from that day on i was here every day. the craft section of this dollar store is better than most craft stores. pins, stickers, yarn, glue, paint... you name it. quality varies-- i bought some hole punches last year and two of them broke in the first few uses. but for a dollar it's totally worth it-- i went to michaels last week and the martha stewart hole punches were $30! crazy. when i moved back to toronto, i lived closer to the college park dollarama and would actually walk up to the yorkville location to save the misery of crowded, line-filled, understaffed college park. the one at yonge/charles almost never has a line, and whenever i go in they're restocking the shelves. probably the store i'll miss most when i leave toronto. read more

This place is SO random, with all the things you didn't think you needed. Most things are very cheaply made, of course, but fun to have nevertheless. This is one of the first Dollaramas that opened up in Toronto over a decade ago, in my university days, when the items were truly just a dollar or under. We were shocked and dismayed when it went up to $2, then $3! Now some are at $4! But I guess since the company is now publicly traded, the guys in Montreal have been pressured by the shareholders to provide higher priced items for more profit. However, they haven't really increased the price of the old $1 items but rather added 'bigger ticket' items like weights ($3) and 'Guitar Hero' starter packs ($4). I especially like the 'Ultime shampoo and conditioner by Schwartzkoff' ($4) and other things like cleaning products, pet supplies, and the new line of various vitamins ($4), no name ibuprofen ($2.50), and Gillette razors ($3). From the more recent reviews, it seems to have changed, but I visited the place recently and it seemed okay. Yes, the line ups are long, but isn't every Dollarama's line up long? The assortment of items is a bit more than usual but not as much as others, say Scarborough Town Centre's, the Hudson's Bay centre one, or the Yonge/Wellesly one. I don't take special trips up to this one like I do with the Scarborough one, but if I'm in the area, I definitely go. read more

A good place at Yonge and bloor station you might miss it if you blink i am happy i don't have to walk all the way across the street to get a cheap coke again when studying in the Toronto Reference library. A tip for you girls when you go there spend 5 mins to look around , Dollarama is now carrying good quality items for very cheap price. My Live Clean serum at Shoppers is about $20 but at dollarama $3 same size i have seen brands like e.l.f ,Essie,Dove,Olay,Revlon, OPI and huggies. read more

Employees at this store are surly and couldnt give a damn. Try asking them something! I had bought a few things and asked the cashier how much was I paying for a particular item. One of the better Dollorama locations in the Yonge/Bloor area, this store located at the HBC Centre is located in a subterranean space near the RBC ATM area in the concourse level. Well organized, a bit more customer assistance than other locations in the area, and its location by the Bloor/Yonge subway stop make this store ideal for anyone working in Yorkville, Rosedale, and/or the Bloor Street East area. Pricing is the same as other stoies and check-out is faster here than at other stores. read more

I love Dollarama! I admit it and am proud of it. I hit both downtown locations (College Park & Yonge/Charles) when I'm out & about. They not only have good prices on things you need, but things you never knew even existed. I don't have a dog, but I saw the coolest thing there. They're little brown plastic bags for your dog's poo. Not only does the colour work, but they are made from a plastic that breaks down really fast. I've also found Mounds & Almond Joy chocolate bars from the U.S. which I love. They sell a lot of groceries like soup, rice, crackers, tuna & the like as well. I see a lot of pensioners & working poor buying a lot of staples here, which is good to see. When you live downtown, you can't always afford to shop at Sobey's or Metro. But I love really LOOKING in here, as you know some of these things will only be here once, so grab them while you can I say. We keep looking for a screwdriver at work, so today I got a 4 pack for a buck! If I can keep co-workers from bugging me at work for a dollar, count me in. I don't consider myself to be a cheapskate or anything, but why should I pay 3 or 4 bucks for household items somewhere else when they're a buck or two here? The lines can sometimes be long, but there's something about saving a mitt-full of change that makes me say "it's all good". read more

It's good too.The same goes for cleaning products ,printer paper I like all the locations in Toronto especially the ones in Malls, Some things are now $!.50 and $2 but it is still amazing. .
