Paper grade disposable utensils and plates

Tap Phong Trading Company has been around for years and in my opinion one of the best places to pick up both for home (plates, rice cookers, knives) and restaurants (massive stock pots, commercial grade taikoyaki makers, industrial grade slicers etc..)  No matter what your kitchen needs are they will most likely stock it and if they don't stock it, they most likely can get it for you. The store is packed and aisles are narrow.  Workers are constantly stocking the store so you need to squeeze past them at times. In this day of online shopping, I love coming here as I get to actually see and feel the product before I buy it.  Prices are super reasonable compared to online so for me it's a no brainer to come here to buy. Do note there is no refund for returns but you can exchange your items within 10 days. 4 out of 5 for an old school shopping experience!

If you ever see anything in a Asian/Chinese Restaurant that you think OMG so cute, I wish I have that at home! You will probably find it at Tap Phong Trading Company. It will take hours for me to browse through everything. And I know there will be something neat I would lke to buy everytime when I am here. (talking to myself, "I have anything I need! I don't need anything!") I think the quality and selections here is much better than dollar store and it is more fun shopping here because the experience is more unique. Will my cooking skill improve if I drop by here more often looking and touch every kitchenwares in the Tap Phong?

teapots were so frugal! approx. 6.99 range

Even with the pay parking, annoying dt traffic, I have become a fan of Tap Phong. I had enquired via email regarding fushia Chinese teacups and received a response very promptly. The place was huge...I think my mom or any house owner would love to browse around. The prices were excellent as well. They really had everything you'd need in the kitchen. Tap Phong also had a section for 'dead ppl'. The things you burn for the dead, etc. (it's a Chinese thing). I even found some mini Chinese teacups and thought omggggg how cute!!! But they are in the 'death' section... I guess it's meant for the ancesters and not drinking :) I was able to find a few Chinese teasets. They were SOOOO FRUGAL :D The best set was the gold & white dragon & phoenix ($26.99). The traditional fushia longevity set was $19.99 (good price but not that vibrant in colour). I ended up purchasing eight $ 1 fushia teacups for my Chinese tea ceremony. Hoping my bms will break these instead of my real set if they happen to be rushing about. Can't get over how they are only $ 1. The cheapest I found uptown was $ 1.99. I will definitely come back here again !

West Indian Stewed Chicken cooking in my new Cast Iron pot!

No matter what you need to assist you in a kitchen, this place will dent your wallet because they have everything you could ever possibly want! I finally found the Cast Iron West Indian cooking pot that I've been searching for this last year!

I found the pan I wanted, then a lid for it in a different part of the store. I also got a long oven mitt. Not too pricey.

There are vintage items, new items, things that you don't have any idea how long they have been there. Then strangely enough, there were shoes and clothes in the back. Agree with the previous 5-star reviews - it's a hard place to sum up in a sentence, because you really don't know what oddball kitschy gift or really useful gadget you'll end up finding. I've bought really cheap unused vintage wrapping paper and 2B pencils, a huge plastic washing/ bathing tub, new glass and wood storage canisters made in France (for an incredible deal), and a kitsch stationery holder shaped like a lion for a friend's birthday. You will find fantastic deals here on great-quality stuff - much cheaper than nearby carefully-curated kitchen stores. Because much if not most of the wares here are unused vintage, a lot of them are made in places like Canada/France/Italy and before everything became disposable. The folks that own/run the place are very friendly, and have a sweet old pug that sometimes sleeps behind the counter. I've generally stayed out of the clothing section, but thanks to a previous reviewer, it looks like I'll have to check it out! Sasmart sits opposite grungy Bellevue Square park, just off the beaten path of Augusta. I highly suggest that you pay a visit next time you're in the market!

How could I NOT go into this store!? Looks-wise it's just like the standard HomeGoods we're used to in the States... except its bigger and better. And really roomy. Sometimes these types of stores are so packed you can barely move around - not this location. Set in a lower level/basement like space it felt modern and comfortable. Walking in - I instantly wished I had brought an extra duffle bag. Between the aisles of pillows, the kitchen/dining section, and the picture frames - I was in heaven. Fortunately for Hubs they also have tons of furniture, so he was able to find a {super cute} chair up front to relax in while I wandered. B/c my luggage could not accommodate all that I had seen I settled on a really beautiful picture frame to commemorate our visit to Toronto. Check out was super easy - seeing as how they had several cashiers available. And my frame, after $$ conversion was only $7. Yay for HomeSense!

The menu at the cafe seemed limited though. What keeps me coming back is the unmatched selection especially towards the higher end of the market. The prices are competitive so that's a bonus. The service has been great so far with my dealings at this store. I usually visit this location to get ideas about those hard to buy for friends. Some brands worth mentioning are Alessi, Hermes, Versace by Rosenthal, Christophle etc. They have the most extensive selection for these brands I have encountered. If you like housewares this store is a must visit IMO. 4.5 stars.

I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know.
