So I just finished my first-ever pole class at dollhouse studio. I am (obviously) a beginner so I chose an "all levels" class. Emily was the teacher. She had just finished a class right before this class, so many of the participants were "rolling over" to the next class, so to speak. Emily took roll call over loud music, then asked who was a beginner. She seemed annoyed right off the bat but I shook it off knowing the pole community had a variety of personalities! So, I raised my hand of course! I was the only beginner in the class. She then shouted to the saying something similar to , "if you are a beginner, remember this is an ALL LEVELS class-- meaning we will practice at ALL levels!" ....Aka- don't come crying if you feel like you don't know what's going on, can't keep up, etc. I totally appreciated the gesture- however her attitude was horrible about it. Obviously this has been a problem before for other clientele. But I was already there, dressed, paid, drove 30 minutes. Seems a little to late to make a decision to stay or leave. (and why shout that to the entire class when I was the only one who raised my hand about being new? lol) Sure enough-- I could not keep up and was pretty much observing the entire time. She spotted me once, quickly teaching me a "jasmine" and loudly said in front of everyone "if you can't do this...welll... this is pole 101!!" (As I struggled to get into this move) It felt very discouraging/embarrassing-- especially to someone who's literally never touched a dance pole. I have a dance background and coached dance, so it's not that I'm a complete rookie to understanding movement/direction/flow/verbiage. I also understand they are very different- but as a dance coach of a variety of styles and ages I would never discourage a paying, brand new customer. Or anyone for that matter!!! Here's my point- If I were the owner of this business, I would kindly mention that the "all levels class" will not only be mostly advanced members, but will absolutely not focus* on any beginner moves *in the description online/on the phone. Stress that beginners will likely feel a bit overwhelmed in this class and it's more ideal to take a beginner class. It would be courteous of this studio to do that- considering Emily felt the need to say this once I got there. Overall... Emily clearly stated this once I was already in the class and dedicated to being there. To me I felt a little bit cheated out of my 20$ & again..her attitude was soooo unpleasant. :( I was so excited to try this place out. And I will probably try again but with a beginner level class, and a different instructor. The studio space it's self is really cool!!!!the people in the class were so welcoming and kind. But Emily was not gentle, seemed like she didn't want to be there anymore, and discouraged me In Front of 6-7 advanced pole-ers. The studio space and clientele get a 5! Check yo-self before you wreck yo-self! Mental note--pre-check GPS prior to go to places in areas you are unfamiliar with or don't remotely live near. Oh GPS why would you take me down a dead-end residential street to try to get into the studio from the backdoor? Rear entry was not allowed in this instance---and I was DENIED---until I tried using a different GPS app on my phone---hooray for choices of different apps-woohoo! The studio is in an industrial type of building with subdivided space to other business as well so walking over the river and through the woods to get to the actual studio was a little unexpected. I felt like I was on a treasure hunt and the studio was where "X" marks the spot. Upon entry of the front door, there are a fee long hallways to navigate through before getting to the actual door of the studio. I was in town for work and decided I wanted to try out a class while in town. It was very easy to create an account and book a class online. Be sure to look around on the website for any promotions they may be running at the time. I opted to try the legs and splits class---which was right up my alley because---it so happens to be one of my life goals at this juncture in time---why I didn't decide to do this when I was younger---ahhhh---dilemmas of my life adventures... Chloe was a great instructor and despite having another class going on next to us, she did great in demonstrating and keeping us on track. We did a lot of different leg centric exercises and then spent the other half of the time in various split stretches. The class was only an hour, I wish with all the different stretches that could have been done the class could definitely have been easily longer--I think this would be great as a 90 minute class. I was able to take a peek at the pole class before this one and the one running concurrently with this class and the ladies definitely looked like they were having loads of fun putting in that work! Will definitely try out a pole class next time I am in town! read more

I've taken a couple classes here and its always a good time. Great deal for it on Groupon. Lets just say these girls are amazing first of all! Favorite class is Pole Dance: Workout taught by Brittin. She has a great balance of 1 on 1 and still getting through a good amount of material. Other instructors seems to struggle a little finding a balance with that either way too much 1 on 1 and you barley learn anything or no 1 on 1 and you don't have a chance to get some individual tips. I would NOT advise taking the Art of Striptease class. I felt so uncormfortable and the description is nothing like the class. I expected a flirty Burlesque type class with learning how to take off layers of clothes and found myself starring down a girl in olny a bra and thong and all she taught us was 30 different way to shake your butt. Whether on the pole, floor, or wall. I guess it was just not my cup of tea(personal opinion). Overall I love all the other classes I've taken and can't wait to take a few more. It is such a good workout and gives you a new appreciation for what those girls do making it look so easy. I say let your guard down and give it a shot you will have a good time! read more

Shout out to Ms. Chloe Kayne for taking care of some last year mixup that prevented me from going. I have one of those confusing love affairs with the Dollhouse. I come for an hour, I have a great time, I feel wonderful womanly & powerful, but the next morning I'm feeling like death on a stick. I'm telling you pole dance is a body beat down if I ever felt one. I couldn't even pull my pants up like a normal human being from the muscle ache. That means its working & I'm doing a hell of a job for a newbie! I'm proud & I'm addicted. So fun. I bet my sister & I lucked up with a group of girls we practice with because all of them are fabulous spirited. I will be sticking with this. read more

A friend encouraged me to try a class here and now I'm hooked. Their class schedule and system is really helpful for people trying to decide if they like it- you can just do a drop-in class or two to kind of "dip your toes" in and see what you like. You can continue doing drop-in classes if you like or you can then sign up for one of their multi-week workshops. If you continue to do drop-in classes, get a punch card; it saves you a lot of money! The instructors are really great. I came in with absolutely no background and absolutely zero self-confidence and everyone was really supportive and helpful from day one. Jamie especially was always patient and helpful and really worked hard to make me feel comfortable. I've now been regularly attending classes for a little over a month and I could not be more pleased! They mean it when they say this is for any/everyone! read more

When I signed up for pole dancing classes using one of their promotional deals, I had no idea what I was in for. While pole dancing has become a fitness trend over the past few years, my fears of being in a class full of suburban housewives looking to spice things up in the bedroom quickly faded as soon as the lessons started. While there are classes which cater to that type of crowd, I was more interested in the acrobatics and athleticism that come with circus style pole art, and Dollhouse did not disappoint. Dollhouse has such a diverse range of classes and instructors that you'll never get bored! From sheer athleticism to pure artistry, the instructors' different styles really give you an all around good grasp on learning pole dancing as a skill that reaches far beyond fitness and body confidence. Class sizes are small enough that you get the one on one attention you need, whether you're a first timer or have a few lessons under your belt. The instructors and fellow students are incredibly supportive and know exactly where your skills have progressed each time you come in. Everyone at Dollhouse is incredibly knowledgeable about different tools and techniques you can use to improve your skills, and offer great advice when it comes to purchasing poles for home use or other equipment that will make the bumps and bruises from pole class easier to handle. If you have even the slightest interest in attending a class, I highly recommend it. You'll be a believer in no time. read more

I took fundamentals 1 with chloe; what a great experience! I much prefer this studio over several others I've been to in the area, if only because the teachers are talented, helpful, and have a good balance of individualized attention and focus on the group as a whole. I've learned a lot from these guys, and they do an amazing job of training dancers rather than "tricksters." Wish I could continue on here but unfortunately I moved out of state. I took a flexibility class as well as a chair class. I found both to be a welcome challenge. The only thing that I would like to see is cleaner floors as my clothes were really dirty after class and some sanitizer for the excercise mats as the were a little stinky. read more

I just took my first class (intro to pole), and it was so much fun and kicked my ass!! I don't exercise at all usually, but while the class was hard work it was still accessible for someone as out of shape as I am. My instructor Katie was so welcoming and friendly, and mentioned that when she started she was also out of shape and needed a lot of work to get where she is now. That was SUPER comforting to me because I was nervous to be the only one who'd never touched a pole before. Everyone else in my class was so nice also, one girl who'd taken the class once before was helping me with my moves. Katie was energetic and non-judgmental and her instructor demo was very inspiring. One of the poles in the room was out of order so I had to share a pole with another girl but it was ok because she was nice too, and Katie made sure I could use her pole when she wasn't using it so I still got plenty of time with the pole. I got a parking space right out front and found the studio without any issues. I'm so excited for next week!! read more

I called and booked a one on one session for Tuesday at 10 am, they had me prepay $75 for the booking, I woke up early drove in traffic an hour just to be to my appointment 30 minutes early since I have never been, I go in the building witch is very confusing because it does not lead right to dollhouse, there are signs for dollhouse bathrooms but not signs for the actual studio, I had to ask some people from the theatre if this was even the right place and they directed me where to go, I knocked on the door no answer, stood in the hallway for over an hour waiting thinking maybe they thought it was at 11, called over and over no answer left voicemails no response, so finally I went in my car waited 30 minutes to see if anyone would walk in the door and no one did so I finally left, called a few times later that day no answer, called the next day no answer, finally Thursday I called from a different number and low and behold they answer, the lady Tasha was very short and rude acting as if it's my fault telling me that they emailed me to tell me class was canceled, I look at my email and they emailed me the night before my class and the email did not say canceled, Chloe wrote "by any chance could you come at 8 or 9 in the morning" witch I showed up at 930 so I don't know why not one person was in the studio if they wanted me there early either way, so Tasha continues to tell me they refunded my money and yes at this point I am mad and frustrated thinking I got took for $75 for a one hour session I never got, so I asked "if the money is not refunded then what?" she told me to call back, so I look in my account and the money is not refunded, I call back of course no answer, I call back on a different number and they answer, funny right, so she tells me she will talk to the owner but I don't trust it because they have been acting weird this whole time, little did they know I didn't want my money back i wanted an apology for my time waisted and maybe a reschedule and some compensation for what happened but I didn't even get that choice they just chose for me to get a refund that I still don't have, so yes I called my bank filed a claim, my bank called dollhouse and spoke to Tasha and they told me they understand why I am going through this, that Tasha was one of the rudest meanest individuals they have had to talk to at a business and yes they said rude and mean, Ive been a manager at a salon for 10 years, I have dealt with plenty of bad situations and would have never ever treated a customer the way the did me, very unprofessional, i would definitely not recommend this place to anyone, read more
