I can't believe I forgot to write a review this summer on this Cafe! I visited twice about ten days apart. The first time was early in the morning, and I really felt like a local (minus the Italian). My cappuccino was perfect, the wi-fi was great, the staff was friendly. We sat inside, and when the hubby went to the water closet, a couple sat down beside me with a cute little dog and started speaking to me--in Italian. I just smiled. Absolutely a perfect morning cup of coffee on this trip. (5 stars) The second time here, about ten days later, we stopped much later in the day. Since the inside was bloody hot, we found a table outside but the waitress never came by. She did stop by the table next to us to take an order from a couple who sat down after we had. I wasn't desperate for a coffee, so decided to get up and see what else we could find. Two hours later, we were back and even though it was stifling hot inside, we sat on a couch inside and ordered from the counter. The price was higher this time by one Euro each for exact same drink. Maybe they had a price increase in the last ten days or a price hike happens later in the day. Not sure, but the coffee was very good and the wi-fi worked. (3 stars) My suggest is to get here early with the locals before the rest of the cruise ship wakes up (be on the first shuttle bus to town). You'll get better service and a cheaper espresso drink! This restaurant is right in the middle of Livorno and, if you are on a cruise ship shuttle, only a few feet from where the shuttle drops you off. Wi-fi here is free. You can either sit outside and wait for a server to take your order or you can mosey up to the counter and, using your best Italian, order a cappuccino or an espresso and, if you can fool the staff into believing you are Italian, the price you pay will be less than if they know you are a cruise ship tourist. As we visited this place twice, we paid different amounts for our cappuccinos on both visits. The first time we might have been mistaken for locals but the second time we were treated like tourists. Both times, the cappuccinos were excellent but the price differed by two euros on the second visit. If you sit inside, there is no air conditioning but the wi-fi reception is very good. If you stand outside, the wi-fi reception is mostly good. If you stand across the alley, you then have to use McDonald's wi-fi. The bathrooms are clean, upstairs and free, if you buy something. The food and drinks are fine and the place is clean. Don't ask for the Wi-Fi. Although they advertise it at the restaurant, they clearly hate it when people use it. We paid 2€ each for the coffee and 2€ for sitting in the restaurant, plus 6€ of a class of wine. The Restaurant's interior (where we sat) was all but empty. Nevertheless, we were given many dirty looks by the staff as my wife and I checked our work e-mail after we finished drinks. The staff is rude. When we asked about the wine we ordered a few minutes ago, our waiter continued to walk away saying, "I don't know the password and I don't know why it's not working." I know wine and WiFi may seem simular to a none native English speaker but you don't walk away why answering a question. When my wife went to the waiter to clarify she was dismissive and clearly did not hear what my wofe said. We eventually got the wine we ordered but the waiter's attitude was horrible. read more

Caffe is €1 unless you want wifi because then you have to sit outside and pay a "special price" of €2. Not happy to be told this after receiving my espresso, and ended up not being able to connect to the wifi anyway after paying the extra euro. I don't recommend coming here to use the wifi. Try the free wifi from McDonald's next door or use the Livorno city wifi. It's free and very strong, but you have to register for it in Italian and receive an SMS message with the access pin read more
