They are not a leasing company nor property managers and they have no business offering that service to their clients. My mailbox never had a key when I moved in. No one knew where it was or how to fix it so my mailbox was left wide open for two years for anyone to access. I locked myself out once and they had no backup keys at the office so they hacked my door lock off and left it looking crazy with a flawed lock the "maintenance man" found in the back of his van. So my door wouldn't lock for a whole year in Philadelphia. My hot water heater broke but they "couldn't get a hold of the owner" so they told me I could move out from July to September with no rental charge until they had the money to blow the wall out and replace the heater. Then they back tracked and charged me for the time I couldn't even live there because I was pregnant. Plus added all kinds of late fees. They went back on their word and wouldn't fix my account to reflect the promises they made. The wall didn't need to be blown out it literally took 2 hours to fix and they just bullshitted me for months. I called and talked to people 4 times and they promised they would resolve it. They stole my security deposit and sent a debt to a collector instead of calling me back or fixing their error. The realtor I dealt with asked for gifts for "helping me get the rental at a good rate" he quite literally didn't even show me the apartment. He gave me the code for the lock box outside to let myself in. I've never written a bad review anywhere but i hope it keeps someone from having to deal with an all around nightmare company. Renting should never be like this. It's simple, you collect rent and you make sure you address safety concerns when they come up. This business just keep cashing the checks with no responsibility for the safety of your tenants. My mailbox should lock, I should be able to lock my door, I should have hot water or it should be handled in a timely manner. Zero stars for Philadelphia Realty Exchange.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!…read more This is the worst group of scumbags I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I had my rent sent up through the direct deposit system on their website. Every month the rent would be paid on the first, and every single month I was charged a late fee. I rented a property for 3 years which they managed. HVAC broke twice in 12 months. The first time it took them 7 weeks to get it fixed. The second time it took them 6 weeks. Every time I called Kathleen would give me the run-a-round. Nothing but excuses. When I moved out they took $400 out of my deposit for cleaning and to repair holes in the wall that were there when I moved in. When I called Maurice about it he told me I'd have to speak to Kathleen. Well, Kathleen successfully dodged all of my calls. We even scheduled a date and time in advance to discuss this, and she failed to call. Then I was told she doesn't work there anymore and somebody else will contact me. Guess what? they never did. Stay as far as you can from these lying crooks.

She proceeded to open my closet and show this random man on FaceTime my underwear drawer, to "show the storage space". Extremely unprofessional and violationg. After cleaning the entire apartment for two days straight, they still had the nerve to charge a $150 "cleaning fee". I would avoid properties that are managed or owned by the Haghkar group all together. The realtor who showed the place to us (I think his name was Thoma?) was great, so maybe it's just a problem with a few people, either way, avoid them if I was you.

When I look to hire any professional for any sort of job - financial advisor, contractor, lawyer, and realtor - I look for someone who possesses these 3 attributes: First knowledge and expertise in the field. And third, someone who will make the process as simple for me as possible and represent me to the fullest. Julie fit all 3 of those criteria. I met Julie 4 years ago, as she organized a community yard sale in our development, where Julie is also a resident. (At the time, I had just put my home on the market with a different agency. I was unhappy with the offers I was receiving, and my realtor at the time urged me to continue to drop the price. Eventually, I took my home off the market.) Fast forward 3 years, and I was ready to explore selling agin. I reached out to Julie, as she has a tremendous presence in the community. Julie was positive and reassuring. She gave me an honest assessment of the value of my home, and what she thought I needed to do in order to get the price that I was looking for. Admittedly, I was secretly pessimistic about my chances of achieving this. However, about a month after listing the house (in November, which is a tenuous time to list a home), I received an offer at asking-price! But the story didn't end there.... There was a snag in the closing, as the closing date was originally scheduled for mid-January, right in the middle of the federal government's shutdown, and my buyer's loan was a USDA loan. So, with the federal agencies closed, we were unable to complete the closing. However, my buyer needed to be in the home, so Julie helped to negotiate a very fair rental deal until the shutdown had ended. Despite the stress of the uncertainty, Julie worked diligently to ensure the sale went smoothly and all of my concerns were alleviated. She made the process easy for me and more importantly, got results. I cannot recommend Julie enough. You can be sure that when I go to purchase a home, the first call I will make will be to Julie.
