I really enjoyed the tasting I had at this wonderful winery, which is biodynamic, whose Bandol wines are well-distributed throughout the US at reasonable prices. I was the only visitor during my time there, and I had a relaxed (90 minutes?) and free tasting here with a generous employee. I got to taste several of their wines, in all colors, including some cuvées that I've never seen imported into the US before. They also make olive oil, which I didn't try or buy, but I would love to on my next visit. Besides the traditional cuvées in white, rosé, and red, they have cuvées Estagnol and Fontanéou, giving different impressions of the terroir of the area, and Contrechamps, a bottling of their oldest vines that I had never seen before. They also have other properties nearby (Château des Baumelles and Château de Castillon) and make separate bottlings of those wines.
If you're a fan of the food and wine of the south of France, of the Mourvèdre grape in general, or Bandol in particular, you should visit this lovely domaine! read more
