At the Appliance Repair Centre they guarantee to repair leading makers of everything from microwaves to vacuum cleaners and it is all done with speed and at a price which is more than reasonable. Again this place has a variety of spare parts and as such is in direct competition with the Bargain Shop. I would say there is very little to choose between the two and my decision would be based primarily on the proximity I was to either of the two establishments. To find one of these shops is rare nowadays so two is a minor miracle and the people of Selly Oak can count themselves fortunate.

My friend who recommended them was equally pleased with them. £40 call out but no more labour charges. If they need to order parts they'll come back and charge you for the parts but not for fitting them. My machine was fixed for parts he had with him so I paid the £40 plus money for parts plus VAT. It seemed fair.

Really disappointing…read moreservice - I had to wait 3 days for an engineer to come out and when he arrived he didn't even have the part - even though I had explained the exact problem (a ripped door seal on my washing machine) and given all the relevant product information and numbers. I then called the office to raise my dissatisfaction and they hung up on me! Do not book with this company if you are in a rush!!

We needed the work done on a specific date due to our work commitments, and TVBC was recommended to me by a work colleague. No problem with the dates, all booked in by Dave the MD. Paul came round on the due dates and took out our ancient boiler and tank and fitted the new ones. Impressive work, as I was a bit worried about making good in our kitchen as the original boiler was so old, but Dave priced a new one, the dimensions of which was almost exactly the same as the old one. Paul was speedy, efficient and tidy, showing respect to our home. Well impressed and highly recommended

Run by Dave, and ex-British Gas fitter, it concentrates on heating systems, and has a menu pricing system so you know what you're going to be in for. I think the prices are comparable, but it's not just about price, it's whether they do a good job and you feel you can trust them. First time I used them, Dave impressed me by telling me my boiler was perfectly sound when I thought I'd need a new one, and gave me a couple of things to try over the phone to fix my problem, which would have done him out of the job. I was a little bit dubious the other week when he put a costly treatment into the system to fix 2 radiators which weren't working, but he was right, after 2-3 weeks, the radiators have started getting hot again. So while I don't know enough about boilers to swear TVBC is a good company, so far I like them, and they're my central heating saviours of choice!
