I got a large tattoo about a year ago by Martin, and I absolutely love it! While I was getting tattooed, I found out the studio does tattoo parties, so I booked a bachelor/ Bachelorette party. What an amazing experience! Several people in the group got tattoos by both Martin and Hillary, and several piercings were done by Pam. Everyone was impressed with the studio, the artwork, the professionalism of the owners, and of course, the ink. What a great experience and so many compliments on the ink! We meet Martin at the Tattoo Expo in Daly City CA. He is very professional with my daughter's first "big piece" tattoo. He took care of my daughter very well because she was feeling faint after a long day and not eating lunch. Martin and his wife were so kind and patient with me and took the time to explain how my idea was not really the best. Instead, Martin took the time to not only think artistically about what would work best but designed it using his iPad. We worked TOGETHER on what would work and what I wanted. REALLY want to give ZERO STARS, Ugh. DO NOT GO HERE! The "professional piercer" is only available by appointment. Okay. My husband made an appointment for 3:00 the next day. Showed up at 3:00. Was advised that if the piercer was not there in 10 minutes, shop would text him. Waited around, checking out cool merchandise. Another shop associate asked if we'd been helped, and remembered my husband calling and making appointment. Again advised the piercer was not there. Duh. Looked at each other and hit the door. Had about four sessions just because it's my very first tattoo and sometimes my artist (Gene) has to go for personal reasons as well. Was loving my experience until the last appointment. Not only did Gene forget about my appointment I drove and hour and waited another hour in the shop for him to show up and get ready. I was then told that the owner (Martin) who has never even tattooed me wanted an extra $70 because of the multiple appointments, which I was never told was an issue? Again this is my very first tattoo. Before this I had never even been in a tattoo parlor. I was then told that I move around a lot by Martin which I was told the opposite by Gene and that's why he wants to up the pricing. After having a difficult argument in the store with both of them I was told they'd rather have me show up plastered rather then sober and moving so much (I'm 18) Gladly I was able to get the color finished with the original price only because I told them they'd never see me again, but it was then very awkward sitting there for ONE hour and after looking at it the next day it is very clear he didn't complete the coloring job, so I'm going to now have to end up getting it touched up by someone else. Moral of the story - I should have read all these other bad reviews before having them tattoo me. Do not waste your time. First love tattoo is a safer and more pleasant experience. Went there on my 14th birthday to get my septum piercing scheduled an appointment and everything when I got there piercer was around In her 60s telling me that she would never let her granddaughter get a peircing that I'm getting yada yada yada she really put me in a weird situation, and I was sitting there awkwardly laughing. later on I sat in the chair where she was about to pierce me. She told me my parents were not allowed to go back there with me. She pierced my nose 3 times the first time the jewelry got stuck in my nose, and she just had to take everything out the second time the needle went through half (she wasn't using clamps) I will say I have a deviated septum, but I don't understand why she didn't use the clamps anyways after that, I was on the verge of having a panic attack there was blood gushing out of my nose it felt like she stabbed me and kept going through the stab wound. I felt like I was about to pass out. They gave me a hard candy I could barely even chew while they were trying to re-pierced me again finally she allowed my mom to go in the back and comfort me. I didn't realize for almost a year She botched my septum and pierced it so low that I had to get a certain diameter for my piercing to even look right. In reality, I should not have even paid $80 for the peircing when it was not even done right and I was re-pierced three times and almost passed out. If you want to get a good piercing, go to velvet orange body craft, she rear pierce my septum for free and actually knew what she was doing and not scold me for getting a piercing that my parents approved of read more

I've been trying to get a tattoo for while now and I go stop by the shop and it was 11:30ish and they were closed, they had a sign that said "be back 11:15" so idk. Then we called them about an hour later and they answered and I asked why they weren't open at 11:30 like they said should of been and they told me that they were there and the store was open. Well all the lights off, the door closed and locked and the closed sign said different... the next day I was able to call them and set an appointment with them for Wednesday the 2nd at 9am I show up at 8:50 and no one was there lights off door locked and no one in sight, I stayed their for about 20 minutes after 9am and they never showed. So screw them I'm not going their not dealing with shitty service if they say their going to be their at 9 I expect them to be open, even that is normal business hours they obviously have a problem waking up on time to get to work. Or just don't care about being professional. Oh well not my business, not my customers getting pissed and going somewhere else I guess ‍ read more

My husband made an appointment for 5:30pm. We pulled up about 5:20 and they were closed. Google says Mon-Fri is 10am-8pm and Saturday is 12pm-6pm. Their own website says Mon-Sat is 8am-7pm. And finally, Yelp says Mon-Fri 9am-8pm, Sat and Sunday 11am-8pm. Why are there THREE different times posted, yet no sign on the door. If there was an emergency or they had to get some food, fine no biggie, we can wait or reschedule. But let us know. Call us back or at the very least, put up a damn sign! Very poor professionalism. I paid Martin Culver to do a back Tattoo of mine we agreed on size and price so I paid him all up front ( stupid on my part). He did a couple sessions and then refused to finish my Tattoo. He would make appointments for me and then not show. So I didn't just not get my Tattoo finished He also waisted my gas and my time waiting for him to show for our appointments. After a incomplete coloring job, I'd tried numerous times to get a response back from Martin on a good time to complete his work. It took several months before I'd finally got a response back to schedule an apt. Not only did I drive 45 mins and wait 15 mins he never showed even after confirming it 2 days prior. When an employee contacts him to find out where he was Martin acts like he has no idea what employee is talking about. This man is a flake. I don't like my time waisted because someone is to incompetent to live up to their word or their art. Sounds to me Martin doesn't care to much about the work he does if he can't even fix the several mistakes made. Unprofessional service. So I made an appointment on the website for 3:30pm. I got there at 3:25pm, the door was locked, but the sign said open. So I waited since I was a tad early, 3:30pm goes by 3:40pm goes by, so I texted Martin and it showed he saw my text but didn't reply right away, so I tried calling him, but it wouldn't let me leave a message. Finally he texted me back and said he had to pick up his kids, so I thought ok, do I wait here or are we rescheduling??? So I messaged him back are we rescheduling and he said he could have one of his other guys come down and do it, which I appreciate, but I knew Martin's work since he's done several family members, so I said no thank you. That was the last I heard from anyone. I'm beyond disappointed, if someone would have messaged or called me and said they had daycare issues or whatever excuse I would of gladly rescheduled, I took time out of my day and waited for over 25 minutes!!!! So I sadly decided to take my business else where. Word of mouth is important. This was a huge inconvenience for me, especially because it took me a while to even decide to get it done.
