I have been a patient of Dr. Curatola for over 20 years and can't imagine seeing another physician. I followed him to his concierge service because it allows him to practice the kind of medicine he didn't have the time to do as part of a large group. We spend at least an hour together each appointment because he is thorough and wants to understand what is going on holistically with his patients and not just treat the symptoms. I was fortunate enough to meet and have a great personal conversation with Dr. Curatola shortly after my father had passed from heart disease. We talked for a good clip and he apprised me of his background where he explained his practice. After procrastinating one night I felt as if I was having a heart attack and went to the emergency room. Found out that I was in an episode of Atrial Fibrillation. They sent me home once I stabilized and I called Dr. Curatola's office the next day. He had me in immediately for an exam. I became a patient of Dr. Curatola 20+ years ago because of issues I had with a previous cardiologist. I find Dr. Curatola to be forthright, patient and has great empathy for his patients. On two separate occasions, his empathy for people really came to light. Both times, I was in the hospital under the care of other doctors. The first time, I had been in the hospital for several days for an infection and the doctors had been conducting many tests. I was quite stressed because of the slow progress in determining what was causing the infection and how to treat it. In walked Dr. Curatola, who had seen my name on an EKG test. This unexpected visit, reduced my stress level significantly. The second time, years later, I had just had surgery and Dr. Curatola walks in, on Palm Sunday with a palm leaf, just to see how I was doing. Even though we are on Medicare, my wife and I have subscribed to Dr. Curatola's concierge service. As a concierge doctor, he is very proactive in making/keeping you healthy. He has taken preventative medicine to another level; evaluating not only your bodies physical functionality but also prescribing "natural" treatments that can enhance the functionality, e.g., supplements, minerals, vitamins, etc. As part of his service, they, also, offer a twice a week "Core and Flexibility" class that has really helped my wife and I improve our flexibility as well as manage the aches and pains we all encounter. The best part is that it doesn't cost extra. This service fills a void that the medical profession has evolved "out" of. With Dr. Curatola's knowledge and vast experience, I am able to go to him for any ailment and trust that he with be able to guide me in the right direction and get well, i.e., he is my medical "quarterback" who makes the medical calls. Dr Curatola is great! Very professional and he helped me solve my blood pressure problem. I have had high blood pressure from the time I was in high school. I had been on a medication that made me lethargic, and when it hadn't worked, the other cardiologist (not at Dr Curatola's office) raised the dosage, which made me even more lethargic. Through an odd series of events, my dentist realized I still had high blood pressure and recommended that I see Dr. Curatola. GREAT Advice!!!!!! Dr Curatola ran several tests, and prescribed a different medication for my HBP. It is great! It keeps my blood pressure right on target. The best part is that there are no side effects! (He told me there wouldn't be.) I have SO much more energy. And I no longer have any migraines! This has been a significant positive change to my life! Even though his office seems quite busy (due to the quality of their care I believe), Dr Curatola is very considerate to take the time to answer any questions I have. My nightmare with Dr Curatola, I was having chest pains and went to Dr Curatola for help and was shoched at the way I was handled by his group. He records his sessions with his patients and I found out why. After being tested for various things he sends you to get blood work done but forgets to send the Berkley Lab form that allows the blood testing company to do the test so I had to reschedule my appointment with the blood teting co until I could get this required signed form from Dr Curatola, then he recomended another doctor for me to go see that handled patients with low testrom as he thought that might be part of the problem I was experiencing. I went to this other doctor on Dr Cruatolas recomendation and after waiting an hour and a half I was able to see the doctor and he asked me what I was there to see him for and I replied that Dr Curatola had recomended him to see me for my condition, however Dr, Curatola never sent over my file or any information on me including the blood work he had me do to this other doctor. This doctor told that he needed that information to be able to proceed with my visit. This Doctor was unable to get it from Dr Curatolas office in time for my visit as it was a file that would have to be delivered to his office. Afetr this last fumble by Dr Curatola I was scared to go any further with Dr Curatola, as Heart issues are serious issues and I was fearful his lack of follow through could possibly cause me harm so I ceased my relationship with Dr Curatola and refused to pay him for the information he had collected on me that he would not shate with the people that needed it. I have since had a Heart attack and found a WONDERFUL Professional doctor in Dr Gudapati whom saved my life. I am writing this because Dr Curatola wants to get paid for the information that I was never bale to use due to his unprofessional practices. A cardiologist decides to start a concierge service and be a jack of all trades, why??? Because he had such high ratings when he was in cardiology before? Me thinks this is just his way of having a stream of income he can budget his personal life around, ignoring the real needs of his patients. The good doctor is never available, always at some conference, it takes him sometimes 48 hours to return an urgent call, and his arrogance is out of sight. Oh, and when one is lucky enough to get a call returned, and ask a specific question, the standard response is that his computer is slow and he can't see the records. After paying for the concierge service and being treated like I was on Medicaid, I decided to take my money elsewhere. I can truly say that I have never been treated with such disregard for my health, such disrespect for having the impudent behavior of asking specific questions about my condition. All in all, a truly horrible experience with a truly horrible individual. read more

I am both a patient and a caregiver for a very close family member who is also Dr. Curatola's patient, so my opinions are based on how my family member and I have been treated. He takes the initiative and time to get to know each patient and their personality to determine the most effective ways to work with them to increase the likelihood that the required treatment plan will be successful. My family member and I have seen several other physicians who have corroborated my opinions about Dr. Curatola. While there may be times when Dr. Curatola runs behind schedule, its understandable that unexpected delays at the hospital sometimes occur. I also appreciate that he devotes the same time to other patients that he devotes to us.
