We bought some seed potatoes today along with some other things we saw and thought, "oh yeah, we could use some of these." They've got hardware, clothes, some produce alongside a first-rate meat market with choice seafood. There's plenty of dry goods and canned goods - even stuff to do your OWN canning. Plus, lots of ingredients for pickling, sausage and jerky making. They even have gardening supplies and an auto service shop! Prices are fairly decent considering their location and convenience. If they put in a deli, I may have to move here. Wonderful people in this bigger-than-little store.

Finding GOOD orchards with friendly people, amazing produce and excellent prices is a blessing. The folks here always have a smile and are willing to help - whether you want to pick yourself or just grab a flat of tasty fruit. Selection can be hit-and-miss depending on the season and growing conditions. But, what they do have is always top quality. We grabbed a couple bags of freshly-picked cherries; one bag of Chelan (dark) and one bag of Rainier. Brought them home, de-pitted them and canned - all the while trying hard not to "sample." There was enough leftover from the excess of canning to allow one bowl of goodness each. Incredibly sweet with a nice, firm texture. So, while we have a greenhouse and (small) orchard of our own, we'll be coming back, often, to Columbia View as the season continues.

Barbecue brisket, ribs, good Mexican food, pan dulcé - all of these I've been craving. Well, high on that list is smoked barbacoa. And, to make that, you need "cachete de res" - aka, beef cheeks. So, for 3+ years I looked and looked around here and FINALLY found a source. River's Edge Ranch offers all kinds of great quality meats; beef, lamb, goat, poultry.... and sausages made from their meats. They also have other products from the tallow and suet of their livestock. You can find soaps, lotions, even beard oil! So, when I contacted them about acquiring some beef cheeks, they quickly responded and got me set up. The 3 packages of cheeks I bought were wrapped, frozen and ready for me. The whole purchase process straight-from-the-source was about as easy as it could be. The cheeks I opened were perfect! They were expertly trimmed already, with very little sinew left to remove. I couldn't be happier. The price is only slightly higher than what I would've expected to pay, but I'd gladly pay it again for this level of quality. I can't wait to try some of their other goods!

Street Dogs is a great, little food ... tent with a grill trailer underneath. They have a good selection of dogs at reasonable prices. They also, at times, have German sausage they can make into a dog-of-choice. AND, they have a variety of "dirty sodas" - no idea what they are - I don't drink sodas. Ordering is easy, service is very friendly and efficient. Even with a few people ahead of me, it took less than 5 minutes to have the Kraut dog I ordered. They're using Nathan's all-beef, jumbo dogs; plump, tender, boiled in Street Dogs' "dirty water" of beef broth and seasonings. Served in a steamed bun with grilled sauerkraut and stone ground mustard makes for a delicious hot dog. Looking forward to trying others.

Most of the items you'll see are locally sourced, including a great selection of meats from local farms and ranches. I happened to pick up some small-batch, garlic & dill cheese spread to try. We've also gotten coffee beans, ground meats, steaks and sausages - all produced within a 50 mile radius of the store. The staff is über friendly and quick to answer questions. The store has a cool "vibe" when you walk in - everything arranged just-so, based on where they came from. Prices are as you might expect for what you could categorize as a "tourist-oriented" shop. BUT, there's nothing in there you'd come away disappointed with. It's a great, little store.
