Came here for the first time with my wife. Ordered the Carne Asada Fries, Quesabirria Tacos, Quesabirrilla, and the Barbacoa Tacos. For drinks, we got a refreshing watermelon drink and Horchata. Everything was super flavorful and amazing. The comp chips and salsa were delicious too. The chips were thick and crunchy and the salsa was so fresh. I looooove anything birria and this place hit the spot. The broth was so good too. The Carne Asada fries were surprising crazy good. It was packed with flavor and meats. Overall, decently priced for the quality of the food. This by far, is the best Mexican restaurant that we had so far since we moved here to TX from Hawaii. We will definitely be back to something else as their menu has a large selection of entrees. The staff were friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at. They also have bar seating. We are on our way to Austin and wanted to eat Mexican food. We chose a restaurant that stayed open until 10:00. When we arrived at 9:30, the servers told us that they were only doing take-out. I would highly recommend that you say you close at 9:30 if that is the case. The "open" sign was still lit snd there were people seated and eating. I understand wanting to leave early but change your hours to reflect that. Or state that the last seating is at 9:30. read more

The closest I've come to having "Oklahoma Style" mexican food in a decade. The Shrimp Empanadas had maybe a teaspoon of shrimp pieces between the three of them and I am 90% sure they were pre-made pre-packaged product. My wife's quesadilla's beef was burned and had a nice 10" long black hair cooked into it. Nice waitress. Manager only deleted the empaNads from the bill to make up for the hair. Some very good flavors in an unexpected place! My tattoo artist recently recommended this place to me so I decided to stop in for some lunch after a good workout. The service was quick and very friendly, the place played some new and old tejano music, and the place was very clean and well kept! For food, I ordered the Birria (they claim they're known for it) and an extra taco of pastor and an a taco of carne asada. Everything was very flavorful and cooked well! The birria was absolutely delicious, good mix of cheese and meat, and the tortillas were nice and crunchy! Dont even get me started on the consomé! So flavorful! The only things I didn't "like" was the salsa, I believe, is made with some Mexican oregano (or maybe just regular oregano, sometimes hard to tell), which gives it almost a marinara taste and the corn tortilla on my pastor was very crumbly, making it a little hard to eat. Best authentic Mexican food hidden in a little corner of a strip mall off of Villa Maria in Bryan, TX. When i got excited to try it, I hadn't actually looked online at any reviews. I just know that my son and his girlfriend like the place, so I was there for an open mind. I grabbed a table while waiting for my oldest son and family to arrive and ordered a margarita... (Oof they don't sell those at this location) With my mind set on a margarita, I went with the dos esquís instead and a fabulous Cucumber Water!! The salsa was warm just as it should be served. Tortilla chips fresh and their guacamole is not something to write home about, but still good. I ordered the Camarones A La Momia and hands down the VERY BEST I have ever eaten! Even better the waitress (Diana) offered tortillas but in a way, she knew it wouldn't be necessary, meaning no wasted food. It appears they make their own chips and salsa: chips are burned (see pic), but the salsa is great! Not too hot. Came here during our trip to San Antonio. We loved our food and how authentic it was. My husband got their famous tacos and I got Mexican style eggs. My mother-in-law had the taco salad. All items were amazing. The Mexican style eggs are on the spicier end for me. My spice tolerance is pretty average, so up to you. It's simple, with jalapeños, peppers, and tomatoes, scrambled into it. I loved the taco salad more, and would definitely order that again. We walked in and were looked at, not greeted, by a guy behind the counter. I asked him loudly if we sit ourselves because the music was blaring. He mumbled something I took as a yes. The young lady server came and took our drink orders, and walked off. I don't know if people were mad, fighting, in a bad mood but everyone was very curt. While waiting for the food some guy from the street came in trying to sell banana bread loaves. When I said I wasn't interested, he gave me attitude and stared me down. . The food was decent, I got a torta which was huge...but not cut. I had to find someone to get me a knife because the guy behind the counter couldn't be bothered. My son got the enchiladas, although good they had beef chunks, it was tasty. Salsa was garlicky and chips were burnt and broken, it was hard to find one to use and dip the salsa with. Sometimes at night I lay awake and think about the time I went to Don Chente Mexican & Seafood. For the sake of my sleep, I am documenting it. It was the first burrito I had in the College Station area, and boy was that a mistake, because it made every other burrito stink in comparison. I went on a Sunday, and it had the perfect amount of people as to not feel crowded or completely empty. The menu was in Spanish, which was a challenge, but the challenge of using Google translate paled in comparison to the reward of a Don Chente burrito. I would've paid for a Rosetta Stone subscription if that's what it took to order this burrito. I ordered the California burrito, and admittedly it took a little while to come out, but so did Avengers Endgame and wasn't that worth the wait? Besides, waiting wasn't that bad because they had complimentary chips and salsa, which were also great. But apart from the food being great, the people working were also super kind.
