We arrived back at the restaurant around 9pm. They greeted us and sat us right away. Not much of a surprise that folks in Bilbao have dinner around 9-10pm! The service was great. We had several servers greet us and checked on us frequently, but we never felt rushed. As a matter of fact, we spent roughly 2 and half hours breaking bread and enjoying each others company. The menu looked great! We were all hungry - the idea of waiting until 9:30 for dinner is a foreign concept for Americans. It was difficult to choose, but I finally decided on the ragu with pork in a red sauce with fresh mozzarella and rigatoni. It was spectacular. I was fresh and the sauce complimented the pasta well. My friends all went with pizza, which was my second choice. They all commented on how incredible everything was and I certainly agreed. There was six of us and wine was the preferred choice of beverage so we went with two local wines - a bottle of white and one red. I had the white wine - it was crisp and complemented my pasta well. After two and a half hours enjoying each other's company we were finally full, but still made room for gelato - just one serving with several spoons. One word to describe the dessert, delish. A great five star experience.

I saw it was located on the busiest street of Old Town in San Sebastián and figured it was a good pick. The waitress was very friendly and immediately got our Tinto Sangria and made it at our table (best Sangria I had in Spain). We ordered a Cesar Salad to share and it was also top notch. I ordered a pizza with mozerella, baked ham, mushroom, artichoke and peppers. We ordered a 2nd one to go because it was so good! We were all so pleased with the food and service that we went back the next night and chose the pasta route for dinner. Might have been even better than the pizza! We had both the meat and mushroom ravioli (best dishes that night!) as well as the pesto pasta. House-made Gelato served in glasses at the end topped off the meal nicely.

The place is jumping, quiet, intimite and with the light rain, it just feels right. We were served a complimentary pizza bread to start. A pizza shell wood fired and lightly brushed with olive oil, garlic and salt. A great start. Our diet has been very lean in the salad department on this trip and a Caesar salad sounded great. The salad was spot-on and had a good flavor. Not quite full, we added a pasta carbonara to split. The sauce was runny, lacked flavor and had a consistency of Mac n cheese. Overall, a disappointment. La Raviolina needs to build out their pasta flavors. They don't taste Italian, but rather a sauce coating noodles. You can judge for yourself and decide what you think.

We were in an Italian restaurant and when we asked for some lemons to spruce up the dish they said they didn't have any? Wha? I mean. First world problems but there are so many other restaurants to choose from. On our short visit it was definitely a miss in what was a beautiful city. We ordered ravioli porcini. I asked a few times to make sure it didn't have mushrooms (the descriptor said meat) because porcini to me meant mushrooms so wanted to be sure. It came in a cream sauce that tasted like mushroom soup; the Milanese veal was overcooked breaded with little flavor. I hope they can read the reviews since it was so disappointing. All I can say is buyer beware. Lastly. The owner brought us risotto. Which we hadn't ordered. We calmly replied it wasn't what we ordered and he was adamant that we had. Perhaps it was a language issue but we definitely had pointed to different items in the menu. When we told him a second time we hadn't he just sort of huffed and walked away. Decor was nice. Server was kind. That's it. Choose another place.
