Unfortunately, I am looking for a new agency this year. I bought my Travelers Insurance…read morehome/auto/umbrella policies here since 2020, but I will not return. My homeowners premiums increased in 2025 by 40% with no explanation or concern from Atlas. In July of 2025 I received a notice letter from Travelers notifying me that my homeowners policy would renew in August 2025, but the deductible for hail/storm damage claims was increasing to $2,500.00. Presumably this was due to hail damage roof claims in my area. The next month I became aware of hail damage to my roof and filed my first ever homeowners claim. Travelers denied the claim due to "wear and tear" ignoring photographs of hail damage. Travelers has now denied my appeal of the claim even with a public adjuster and an independent report showing multiple areas of hail damage. Several other homes in my neighborhood have had recent roof replacements due to hail damage. Other companies covered those claims on roofs the same are as mine. At the follow-up inspection for my claim appeal, the adjuster said he would "try to get it right this time" to get my claim approved. It was promptly denied again claiming vague "wear and tear" excuses. From my work expertise in the insurance industry, I know that brokers/agents can assist with claims if they want to help and keep your business. Atlas Insurance has taken no action to assist with this claim or support me in any way. They just assume they will continue to get my business and couldn't care less about my claim when I actually need coverage. Because I filed this valid claim that was denied in bad faith by Travelers, I will now be required to replace my roof out of pocket before I can change insurance carriers (and brokers) later this year. I have also never received some of the policy premium discounts that I was promised when I signed up with Atlas in 2020. Hopefully other people have experienced better treatment and service from Atlas and Travelers.

I had a terrible experience with Goss Insurance based out of Chattanooga who signed me up for a…read more Southern Trust home insurance policy. I had some wind damage to my roof. Several shingles blew off in a wind storm, leading to a small leak. I filed a claim. The adjuster for Southern Trust, Steve Dunn, scheduled and then cancelled four different appointments to come out and look at the damage, which was extremely inconvenient for my wife and me who both work full time. When Mr. Dunn tried to cancel for the fifth time, I called Southern Trust and complained about Mr. Dunn. I spoke to his manager, Tom. Tom was very disrespectful. He told me I was not his priority. He said he had more important claims and that he was the one who told Mr. Dunn to keep cancelling his appointments. Southern Trust finally sent out an independent adjuster to look at the damage. The small leak had become more serious in the two months it took Southern Trust to come out to my house. About two weeks after the independent adjuster came to my house, I received a letter from Steve Dunn saying there was no hail storm on the date of the claim. No one had said anything about hail. My house had wind damage. Plus, Mr. Dunn has still never been to my house to see the problem for himself. I paid Southern Trust over $20,000 in insurance premiums. The first and only time I ever filed a claim, they wouldn't even come to my house. They told me I was not their priority. The only thing Southern Trust is good for is giving yourself a false sense of security. You're basically just throwing your money away if you purchase a policy from Southern Trust or Goss Insurance.
