He was more than eager to sign us up, but when we ran into hiccups with their underwriting department, he was less than helpful. I understand we may have had complications with our transfer from Hawaii (gap between insurance policies) and forgotten-reinstatement fee on my husband's license, but he didn't even try to explain anything. Kind of nonchalantly said, "I'm not sure you're just gonna have to check up on it." He also ignored my phone call at the end. We have since found another agent (Bill Blay with Farmers), who thoroughly investigated our application, worked out the kinks, and even came by our house to get everything settled. We have a policy through Farmers now which wasn't much higher, and we now have peace of mind. We have an agent who answers his direct line every single time by the 2nd ring ... and gives my husband golf advice! :D I wasn't unhappy with the fact that the underwriting department had a problem with our policy--that's out of the agent's hands and I understand that. If I could give 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional, does not take responsibility & does not return calls. Had my account switched over and just wanted to play a blame game of another office, why my account was not correct. Called this office 3 to 4 times to have it corrected. I finally had to email just to get a call back and have Dondrell himself just there and tell me how this wasn't a Statefarm issue. He does not care for the customers and instead of helping he wants to explain how it ain't his offices fault. I let him know I didn't want to deal with him and instead of him letting the other lady in the office help me he asked me to leave because I didn't want to deal with him. Very unprofessional!- I also put a Google review and instead of him addressing the issue he wants to state how he asked me to leave several times and another office was didn't like my tone or profanity. Yet again brings up another office (which mind you he has no idea what happened at that office) .. I switched agents are a reason, I never cursed at anyone in his office, my tone was stern because I was tried of getting the run around but he never addresses how he treated me in his office! Funny part as many times as I called his office to get my account fixed he never wanted to come out to help until he heard me explaining the conversation I had with him with the lady in the office, then we wants to walk out. You would think after all of the times i called to try to get this resolved he would have been a little more apologetic and understood my frustration but nope he was only worried about his office not taking responsibility. read more

Let me first start off by saying that as a family, we have been with State Farm for over 30 years, in California and then Hawaii and have had nothing but exceptional service up until now. We recently moved from Hawaii to Arizona and contacted Mr. Swanson's office as it was closest to our new home. When we moved to Hawaii from California it was a smooth transition of simply updating our information with a local agent and we had absolutely no issues for the 10 years we were there. I assumed it would be an easy transition when we moved to Arizona as well. Boy was I wrong. After contacting his office we went in to meet with one of Mr. Swanson's agents, Tyler. He was helpful and kind and made it seem like the transition was all taken care of. We wanted the exact same coverage we had in Hawaii, the only change was to simply add my husband's newly acquired classic vehicle on to our existing policy. He gave us temporary cards and sent us on our way. After that day we have spent the last six months trying to correctly update our policy. My husband travels for work so he has very little time home with his family and literally every weekend since we moved here 6 months ago we have had some kind of State Farm issue we need to spend hours on the phone trying to correct. From the get go there was an issue with the underwriters and our policy was completely changed from what we discussed in the office with Tyler. We thought, okay, not his fault mistakes happen and attempted to correct the issue of my husband's classic car being reclassified as a regular vehicle and tripling in price along with several other policy discrepancies. No one at Mr. Swanson's office called us to let us know the policy was changed, we only learned of the change when we received incorrect insurance cards and policy information in the mail. We then contacted Tyler (he never contacted us) and he assured us it was taken care of. We receive another letter in the mail a week later letting us know our policy was being cancelled due to lack of automatic withdrawal and a lack of information about my husband's classic car. At that point we learned that he never updated my husband's classic car information (we drove there 2 different times for him to take pictures and document the car) and did not put our payment information through even though we signed up for automatic withdrawal and both of us went in to his office to sign the auto withdrawal paperwork the first week we were here. We called his office again and did not receive a response so we spent hours on the phone with State Farm's assistance line trying to pinpoint all the issues. They let us know nothing had been updated or corrected from that first initial meeting. So, with our policy in jeopardy of being cancelled we received a call from a woman at Mr. Swanson's office (still not Mr. Swanson himself) letting us know Tyler was no longer working there and she assured us they were correcting the issues to get us up to date. They had no idea what Tyler did and seemed to have no information from the initial meeting we had. We made an automatic payment (more than we were supposed to pay) just to insure our policy was in good standing until they corrected all the issues. We again wrongly assumed that it was all taken care of. We received another letter in the mail that seemed to show our correct policy and updated information from the underwriters but received a call from the woman at Mr. Swanson's office telling us they had never received that policy and in their records we still had the incorrect one and they had no idea what that correct policy was. I had to go to their office and physically give them a copy of this policy so they could bring our policy and account up to date. After several other issues and miscommunications, we received a call from Mr. Swanson today now letting us know that the woman who took the copy of our correct policy was no longer with the company and they had no information about it. Between the run around, lack of communication and the countless hours we have spent trying to remedy this with customer service, I am very disheartened. In 30 years we have never once had any issues and now during a hectic time in our life, a big move to a new place with three small children and my husband traveling for work 85% of the time we have lost all peace of mind with our insurance company. Isn't that what the point of insurance is, peace of mind? I'm very disappointed and don't wish this mess on any one else. read more

I recently got married and wanted to combine my insurance with my wife's. Her agent, Dondrell Swanson, was closer to where we currently lived so we we headed over to speak to him about the merging of our accounts. Mr. Swanson took his time (2hours!) with us, explaining in depth everything we had questions about. My wife and I had been speaking about life insurance lately and we felt very overwhelmed by all the information out there. I have been trying to contact this office for almost 2 months trying to resolve one issue and i keep getting assured Dondrell will contact me. i give him 3-4 days and call back and submit another request. on top of that without notice my rates went up almost $100 and i never got any information stating why from the office.
