We had salt and pepper prawns and wan tons for starters then a seafood medly dish and a chili beef dish with rice and the couple of glasses of wine all for 28 pounds. They have a huge menu and good prices and the food was delicious. you can bring your own wine and pay for corkage. We will probably eat here weekly now to make up for lost time.

Thai Girder isn't a large restaurant - I doubt that more than 40 people could be comfortably seated inside - providing an intimate and cosy atmosphere. With sombre, modern décor and slightly dimmed lighting a relaxed mood is achieved and even with the occasional take-away customer breezing through there maintains a smooth, flowing consistency from the waiting staff who, though mostly young (I'm guessing), were polite, friendly and most importantly assuringly competent and in control. The menu is extensive enough to meet a large variety of tastes and preferences and should you wish to change a dish around a little (swapping a meat for tofu as an example) then this is easily possible as we discovered. The prices aren't too pricey either and the meals are plentiful in themselves. I was particularly pleased with the amount of pork in my main, some place can be a little stingy and fill the dish out with varying vegetables. So, a great little place to discover and if the level of quality remains consistent for my next few visits (because I will be returning here) then I'll have no qualms at all about bumping Thai Girder up to a 5 star establishment. The consume was fragrant and delicious and prawn dumplings were bursting with flavour. The larb was made with grilled chicken as opposed to minced and it was perfect, fresh with lots of herbs and well spiced. For mains we had the grilled fish in pandan leaves and pad prig khing...both were packed with flavour, fresh and tasty. We ended our meal with panna cotta, perfectly wobbly and lightened from being sat in a pool of kiwi puree. I plan to come here often

The food is delicious, the portions are generous and the service is friendly (you can even practice your Thai should you wish, but the staff are all fluent in English of course). Starter wise, the soups can be a little mild occasionally but if you ask then they are happy to make the heat more authentic for you. The other starters are mostly the usual that you'd expect to find, but the Tuna Carpaccio deserves a mention, being extremely tasty and a break from the norm. Mains are again what you'd expect to find, but are executed really well. The Pad Kra Pao is always good and, like the other stir fries, is available containing a good choice of meats and veg. A nice touch is that you can have most dishes with pork (which I find is often the best for Thai food) and even with minced pork, which I'm informed is even more like traditional cuisine. The Pad See Ew noodles are also exceptionally tasty, with the noodles and vegetables cooked slightly al dente. I haven't tried the Pad Thai noodles but they look very good indeed. The restaurant is more "smart" than the average Thai restaurant, as they often tend to be either sparse or a wooden clad affair. Thai Secret is tiled in dark colours and mood lighting and has a sophisticated feel to it. There is a good selection of wines too. I'm really glad I tried the place on a whim some time ago. It has certainly become my Thai restaurant of choice in the area. Highly recommended!

The owners understand something, which gets lost sometimes in busy London gastronomy - customer service of highest quality but discretion. This begins with the green bamboo plants outside, how you are welcomed, which table you want to sit on, to quick service, excellent food and not that I should talk about the toilets - but in this case - the toilet is very small but clean and with thoughtful little details, a treat for once. The staff wears a beautiful uniform, which they probably have had tailor-made. This place has a secret to success and I hope they continue to flourish.

He had the duo of banana for dessert which he highly rated but I couldn't eat anymore food. The owner recommended a port which my partner had and said was one of the best ports that he had tasted.
