So I asked them on behalf of Yelp what this place is like, they grimaced thinking of all the years they spent studying but the tortures of retention and repetition aside they had fond memories of the teaching staff. The facilities are very impressive too. All I can contribute independently to this review is that the building itself is a nice piece of architecture and surprisingly fits in very well next to the old Georgian buildings.

The building itself is a tad inaccurately described as "the white building" in the equally grandiosely titled for its purposes Goldenbridge Integrated Complex. It's a converted church mideway into a housing estate just over the canal from the Goldenbridge LUAS stop. Curmudgeonly grousing aside, when focusing on the community service this place provides, it should be strapped with colonnades, gold leaf and marble facing. This is a facility staffed by some very dedicated folks working hard to help the local public stay working. LES works in conjunction with FAS and Social Welfare to provide back to work schemes and resources for job seekers in the surrounding area. Not only are there courses on improving CVs and interview skills, but copiers, computers, internet access and a FAS jobs console. The staff are genuine as well -happy to offer a cup of tea and a sympathetic (if proactive) ear as well as a game plan for getting back on one's feet.

Oh god, even I thought that was awful) My driving licence has been liberated from my back pocket by some crazed protester who thinks they should be returned to the wild... or just stolen, I'm not sure which. The nice Garda gave me forms to fill in, patted me on the head and tells me not to keep valuables in my back pocket. I immediately removed the antique grandfather clock I had been keeping there and put it somewhere safe. For the law-abiding among you this is a nice place to go when you have to, for those who treat the law like a movable feast it's probably less fun if you end up there.

It is so atmospheric that it would put the fear a' jeebus into any 19th Century cape and monocle type villain. Check it out in my photo, it's amazing. Just type "Dublin waste free trade" into Google and have a browse. The Dublin Waste website is a little better than the Dublin section on Freecycle.org, which is a great idea, don't get me wrong, but at the moment a lot of posts seem to be for items wanted rather than items offered. Sign of the times, I suppose. So if you want to reduce our collective carbon footprint while easing the pressure on Dublin's waste management infrastructure, log on now and have a ball. You may even pick up that set of speaker brackets that you desperately require.

The origins of the cool name date back to the early 18th century, when a man named William Connolly built a hunting lodge on the site of a cairn, stones of which were used in the lodge's construction. When a storm blew the roof off, superstitious locals believed it to be some sort of divine retribution for the desecration of the cairn, and that the site would be forever cursed etc etc etc... What the Hellfire Club actually consisted of was a place where the English gentry could get sozzled and ride a few brazzers in the company of their social equals. The natives, no doubt suspecting that these English toffs were up to all sorts of Masonic shit as well, started telling stories of satanic rites, with black cats being sacrificed and allsorts. It's nice to see that Ireland's historical traditions are being revived by the young generations. Southside goths do this by having knacker drinking sessions in the ruins of the building, drawing demonic symbols that they learned from Buffy on the walls for the craic, then freaking out at the sight of those same signs later on, whilst on their second tab of acid. The syphilis-demented aristocrats of yesteryear would be proud of our nation's youths' exploits.

My wife looks at me with undisguised distain, "look, the kids are happily getting ready to go, act you age and get ready too". Grumbling, I get out of my chair, turn the TV off and put my coat on. In truth I have always wondered what the place was like - having heard many rumours and stories when I was younger. lots of sadistic masses and naked women is what I was hoping for but after about 40 mins walking up hills and through forests we reached the old hunting lodge and not a naked woman was to be found. Instead we find a clearly very old building, completely open to the public (usually such places are barricaded up and closed), where you can wander around and marvel at the piles of broken bottles and used condoms. The view from the top of the mountain (and from the windows of the lodge) is spectacular - and well worth the trek. I can picture us doing it again in the summer for a picnic, it would be ideal. Worth noting - the car-park at the bottom of the mountain is very small, you'll probably end up parking on the side of the road, which is never particularly advisable!

It is located inside a building so it is really easy to miss. Just be attentive and look for the signs. Once I was there everything went smoothly. The whole thing took less than an hour. I got a number, handed my documents, was told to put my hand bag in the locker (they'll give you a key). Then they tell you to go to the end of the corridor where is the room the exam happens. They'll take a headshot of you and collect your signature. You go to the exam room and you do your thing ;) Once you are done you leave the room and wait in the same area you were waiting before. In what seems to be ages they will finally call your name and tell you if you passed or not. Good luck!
