Our waitress was attentive and kind--even when she accidentally added mustard instead of mayo to my burger, she caught the mistake immediately and fixed it without hesitation. The food is classic comfort done right. My burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the homestyle fries had that seasoned bite that reminded me of my uncle's cooking when I was a kid. The restaurant itself has a clean, definitely dated, but in a way that feels like stepping into a mom-and-pop diner. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and feel like part of the neighborhood. We'll definitely be back :)

Another time a little earlier o was informed they had a linted menu due to the time. Today I made it a little after 1. I had the egg salad. It was a runny slop. Folks maybe it not b usually like this but for me it was the last time. The staff is friendly, the place is reasonably clean. However the food is typically average, so it is not bad. It is only that I will patronize this place for a few years. I hope thee no longer serve runny egg salad again.

If you didn't have to slow down you would easily miss the long plain looking building and the small sign on the south side of the highway, Mel's Highway 10 Café. It looks to have been around for quite a few years. The spacing of multiple doors located on the front of the building, hint that in its early life it may have been operated as a small motel or roadside cabins. Country décor inside, knotty pine, barn tin and farm tools on the wall. Grab a table. The well-worn menus have the diner foods you were expecting. Beans and corn bread, a southern staple was today's special on the chalk board. On the menu under Platters is "Mel's Famous Chicken Fried Steak." Under that, the Chicken Fried Chicken. Two please, with mashed potatoes, fried okra, and cream gravy. The drinks are limited, but they did have diet Dr Pepper. A delicious, moist chicken breast with a perfect crispy crunchy coating. Mashed potatoes and cream gravy, likely instant but very tasty. Golden brown okra and a couple of fresh yeast rolls to clean up any stray gravy on the plate. Nothing fancy, great food, adequate friendly service. And an opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life in rural Arkansas You will quickly figure out that this is an Amish owned business. The friendly ladies working out front were dressed in a traditional Amish conservative attire, which included the white bonnets. I cannot help it, but the bonnets remind me of coffee filters. So here I am! Coming in, the place is so cute and clean and the girl working was super sweet on helping us on what to get. I tried the Bahama llama. I love Red Bull and hate coffee so I went with this drink that was highly recommended and it was so good. The donuts I got a 12 piece and there is many flavors. I'm not super big on sweets but my husband and boys loved the donuts and said you can definitely taste the peach cobbler and banana pudding in them: I did try a sample of the cinnamon donuts and that was really good. Not too sweet!! I can definitely understand the rave about this place and will be back when I come back home to visit!

That's when I passed by their location on Rogers Avenue. Had no idea what surprises awaited me but the name of the business made me laugh so I pulled into the parking lot. It was too cold to get out but I found their website and was intrigued. Ordering online through their app was super easy and reading through the menu descriptions of each donut had my mouth watering. Now keep in mind, each donut is no more than one or two bites, but oh my goodness, they hit the spot! The options included ordering an assortment of only one or two varieties, but since I didn't know what I was getting myself into, I ordered each one individually and just picked the five that caught my attention first. Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Went to the drive-thru and the incredibly sweet lady was already working on my order. They came out perfectly warm and the flavor combinations were fantastic! If I had to pick one favorite, I'd probably go with the maple bacon. But choosing one favorite feels like choosing a favorite child... can't do it. They were all fantastic. Looking forward to going again to try more. And it was really nice being so incredibly welcomed, even at a drive-thru window. Bravo Sugar Llamas!
