Then we like to head over to the bar where on weekends they always have a great band! They have a variety of acts and there is no cover charge so you can come and go as you please. They also have a lot of fun machines which vary from penny slots to higher value slots. They have a lot of tables for those who like that kind of gaming as well, but that's not our thing so we stick to the fun slots. It's not as big as Las Vegas, but comeoon people, you just can't find this kind of fun for this price! Also if you gamble enough, (we never go over $40 to 100 so we're not big spenders, but somehow we got on this list where sometimes they give you free gifts just for showing up! We've gotten amazing stuff! So far we've gotten crystal Swarovski earrings, a bamboo serving platter, a cast iron pan, and a set of serving bowls! It's really miraculous to get this kind of deal from anywhere. I've been to Vegas plenty and let me tell you you will never get a buffet with prime rib and lobster for 9.99 anymore! Typically I only stay at the Comfort Inn when I am traveling in smaller towns where some of my preferred hotel chains don't have a location. The Sydney Comfort Inn is well located, on the waterfront and close enough to restaurants and the casino. Once the check-in completed, I walked down the hallway towards the staircase at the far end and was taken aback by the strong smell of cigarette smoke. I honestly can't understand why hotels still tolerate smoking in any of their rooms. Unfortunately, the smell had even wafted upstairs but it was much less noticeable. My room, on the second floor, was nice enough and comfortable. It was also impeccably clean, which is really what we all want in a hotel, isn't it? An unexpected touch in a hotel of this type is the 32 inch flat screen plasma TV. A complimentary continental breakfast is served, oddly enough, right in the main lobby. It's a bit strange to have lots of people walking by, checking out with their suitcases, while you're buttering your toast. With a $95 rate, this is definitely a good choice in Sydney but with the nearby Delta soon to fly a Holiday Inn banner, with probably some pretty aggressive pricing, they might have a hard time competing.

A front desk staff member immediately came to the room. After trying to get it working, she not only promptly moved us to an upgraded room, she checked several to be sure we got the one with the best possible a/c and even offered to help us move our bags. We did not lose even a half hour of our vacation time! In general this is a wonderful place! It's well maintained and very clean. Every staff person we encountered was warm, friendly, and helpful. I appreciated that a 24 hour guest laundry is available up near the cabins. Our room came with nice toiletries, a decent blow dryer, and the shower had great water pressure.

I played here the morning of my wedding with my groomsmen, it was cold, really cold. In fact it was snowing on one of the holes at the top of the mountain. Yes a mountain. At least it feels that way when playing. the holes are up hill or down hill, not a whole lot of level playing. But Fun! But that was one of my most enjoyable games. This is the only course i have ever played where i will always get a cart. I just don't feel like walking up a mountain. The resort itself is awesome, the rooms are great, the views of Bras Dor Lakes are great, the food is oh-so-good. I can't wait to play this course, on a nicer summer day. The service was very good and we had some local beers and then I ordered a Guinness to go with the lobster roll and poutine fries (which we never had). We were with a couple from the ship that lived in Canada who knew a lot about the area. The lobster roll was cold but it is supposed to be that way and came on a toasted bun. The poutine fries are served with gravy and according to the couple can be different depending on where you get it. It also had cheese curds in it, so if you are worried about clogging your arteries pass it by. Good stuff, and a good place to grab food and drink.
