This resort does not cater to non-golfers or families. I think they could improve by doing just that. I agree with a previous post that the rooms and cabins are subpar. This is my third year being at Dundee for a family reunion. The food is OK, not worth the price. We waited over two hours to be checked in so by 5 PM, since we were staying one night with kids, there was not time to enjoy the lake amenities. Staff did not compensate us. We stayed at the hotel and I appreciated the air-conditioned room. Our relatives reported that there was no AC in the cabins. Our toilet did not flush and the refrigerator was not working.
We were invited to let the kids swim in the pool but it was difficult to access all our swimming gear since we did not have a room to settle. The small things I noticed such as worn down playground, old torn patio chairs, no pool divider to designate the shallow from deep end, torn up pool noodles, broken sauna, and unkempt floor at the indoor pool area added up to overall dissatisfaction.
The front desk staff reported that the cleaning staff were working very hard which I did not doubt since there were 3 observed cleaners for a fully booked lodge. To improve , management should hire more staff when there is clearly a booking for two family reunions and a wedding.
So if you are a golfer and want to experience beautiful scenery (and the scenery does make it worth it but this is not a complement to the management, only to God's country itself ) in a subpar room where you need to fix your own toilet and have it break again, then need to flush your own toilet by reaching in the bowl ( it is the cleanest part of the toilet )this resort maybe for you.
If you are like me, a non-golfer with a family looking for a decent place to vacay, skip it and head to Inverness. read more
