When we arrived we were a few hours early and feared we wouldn't be able to check in yet but the member of staff behind the reception desk was so helpful and lovely. He checked us into a room without any problems. The foyer is modern and clean so we got great first impressions. There's tourist information, maps and all you'd expect to find at a hotel. The snacks and drinks are extremely pricey though, as is breakfast if you haven't already got it included in your booking. The room was nice, not amazing, but it did us just fine. There was a few holes in the net curtains and the room wasn't as modern as I'd expected but everything was clean. The room came with amenities such as a fridge, shampoo, shower gel, tea and coffee tray and free WiFi. The WiFi was pretty slow and frustrating though. Every day the maids would clean and tidy the room and I got such great sleep in the bed during my stay as it was very comfortable. The location is just outside of the central locations I'd say but we didn't mind a 10 minute walk into town. Potsdamer Platz is literally a 10 minute walk away and there you will find some shops and restaurants. There's an underground station right at the end of the road where the hotel is, like 2 minutes walk, where you can get to the zoo and Olympic Stadium on the same line. So handy! Would definitely come back here if I visit Berlin again and I would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

I was able to check in early and I had a nice corner room facing the back (a parking lot and a green space owned by the hotel, but, glad it wasn't the street). They have a decent continental breakfast in the morning which is often packed with guests. The TV has two English speaking channels and some cartoons that were in English (though I wasn't watching them). A friend ended up joining me for the duration of my trip and I found myself "stealing" extra cups and towels from the housekeeping cart, as they only give you one of everything if you are booked for one person. My biggest complaint about German bedding is the weird "small" duvet that they use for the beds. I barely covered my feet and my friends! They do have a nice bar downstairs with reasonably priced cocktails. Keeping in the tradition of German service, the waitstaff leaves much to be desired personality wise. During the EuroCup they turned all the TV's to the game and guests from around the world watched the games. WIFI is spotty. I was on the second floor and it'd go in and out randomly which was a pain for work. I had better luck in the bar. However, the rest of the lobby I had no luck. (I have a Mac) You get free WIFI if you get breakfast in the morning or you have to pay 5 Euros for 24 hours. The location is okay but the neighborhood is boring at night. You have to walk a bit to find any decent bars or restaurants. I'd stay at Motel One again, probably in a different location.

I've had to wait for hours to check-in with a room reservation - one very determined woman at the front desk wouldn't let me check in until it was 3pm on the dot (the earliest I gather I could access my room). The price is pretty reasonable (although the nearby Holiday Inn Express is about the same cost with four star service and rooms). There is a small bar that is attended by the front desk staff most of the time. The breakfast room is too small - huge crowds spill over into the lobby having breakfast during busy weekends. But it is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of the K-damm and is close to the Bauhaus Archiv.

A business center, several conference rooms and wifi access offes a good working environment. The breakfast was in good. Additionally there is a bar with a seperate smoking room (!) and a restaurant which only serves products from organic farming.
