The convenient access to the COOP grocery store is an added bonus. Oh yeah, taking goofy photos with the Anne-Sophie statue had me laughing non-stop. That was a definite once in a lifetime experience. The surrounding area is safe to go for a long stroll and in the residential neighborhood behind the hotel too.

The carbonara came served with a toxic orange sauce that looked like the powdered cheese from a Kraft mac and cheese box--except that would have been infinitely better. I had never seen a carbonara that came with a sauce?? I thought I would still give it a try since I had already ordered it, but I should have followed my instinct of feeling grossed out when they brought it to me. After the plate was taken away, I noticed the person next to me ordered the same thing expect they got a side of Parmesan cheese. I pointed this out to the sever asking him that it seemed my dish was supposed to have this too. The sever looked over to other table's dish, shrugged, and proceeded to check us out. We had to flag the severs down for spoon to eat the dessert with that they had already brought to us so we could even eat it. And we also observed one of the servers causally drinking a beer while on the side working. So weird. So gross. Such an unnecessary experience and I honestly still feel grossed out. Save your money and go somewhere else!

It is steps away from the train station and the main shopping street.

Having motorized blinds on the windows was wonderful because you could get the room really dark. Great for sleeping. The hotel is convenient to a grocery store and there are some restaurants in the area. Public transportation is very close by. Viking Cruises had a large number of their passengers staying there so it was sometimes hard to get on an elevator. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Every single color in the multicolored rug was exactly replicated in the sofa pillows, chairs, tables, etc. I ordered something new that I'd never seen before--Hofgarten Sauer rhabarberschorle (rhubarb spritzer)--which was a refreshing change to my usual Apfelshorle. A bit sweet and tangy, it was a refreshing fizzy drink to quench my thirst after dinner. The NENI menu card stated free Wi-Fi, but I found the signal too weak to do anything. The restroom upstairs had tons of mirrors for one of those really cool effects where you see the reflection go on for infinity. The DJ played good tunes all night, which made for a very nice atmosphere to chill out with some friends for a drink and conversation. My only remark would be that the crowd seemed rather young on a Friday night, but that could have been due to the ping pong tournament.

We were hot and tired and they welcomed us with ice-cold infused water and cool towels. They treated our kids like royalty. Our room was perfect - I believe it was a "family suite" room 404. So large and spacious with lots of air conditioning. Housekeeping twice a day kept things clean, stocked, and orderly. The breakfast was in a beautiful room with all the fruits and pastries and eggs and meats you can imagine. The hotel is in an excellent location for walking, dining, and shopping. It was the best stay of our whole trip and we would be thrilled to return!

They also treated us to a welcome amenity that was a selection of sweet and savory snacks they made. And, we visited their bar, which is also gorgeous with an incredible menu. My partner is celiac and so we need strict gluten free with no cross-contamination to keep him safe. The hotel took this seriously from the moment I asked the concierge for help. The breakfast team was very helpful with navigating the options, and even brought him gluten free bread. Our server in the bar seemed to understand the issue and take it seriously. And, they even managed to make the in-room welcome amenity gluten free for him, which I would have never expected. We felt very safe with their team.

It's definitely more function over form. The bed was appropriately firm and very comfortable. All the necessary amenities are also available. The only slight downside is that it's about a 20 minute Uber ride to Bahnhofstrasse.
