Our favourite dish was the kebab platter which came with a variety of different meats so we could try a bit of everything - it was a great dish to share. Our only complaint was that the server spoke in a whisper voice - even quieter than ASMR. I questioned if I was hard of hearing. Even after putting on our best listening ears and leaning in, we still couldn't hear anything that the waitress said. I reached the restaurant at 3:14 PM, only to be told that the chef had prepared veg momos instead of chicken. What made the situation even worse was that the staff kept blaming each other instead of admitting the mistake. The girl at the counter said it was the chef's fault, and the chef said the girl gave the wrong information -- yet neither of them took responsibility. I was then told it would take 10-12 minutes to fix the order, even though I have ordered momos from them before and they take 25 minutes to steam. Despite this, I calmly said I would wait if they could offer a small discount or compensation for the inconvenience. She checked with the chef and came back with, "We can't give any discount." The chef then came out and tried to offer free veg momos, which I clearly said I didn't want. I only asked for a reasonable discount -- something most restaurants, especially new ones, offer to keep customers happy. I stepped outside, and the girl followed me out saying she would talk to the owner and update me. I waited another 10 minutes, and she never came back. No apology. No response. No call from the owner. Nothing. For a new restaurant trying to build their name, this was honestly shocking. No accountability, no respect for the customer's time, and no basic understanding of customer service. Instead of owning their mistake, the staff spent time blaming each other and still refused to offer even a small gesture of goodwill. I would strongly advise people to be cautious when ordering from this place. Good food matters, but customer service matters just as much -- and today, India House Restaurant completely failed on that front.
