Just a review of the chocolate truffles. My husband got me a variety for Valentines Day, and I'm sure they weren't cheap, but they are not very good. The chocolate is waxy and they don't melt in your mouth at all. Plus the flavors are indistinguishable and kind of all have a subtle mint flavor for some reason. Would not recommend unfortunately. We love supporting small businesses on the island, but will ask him to try something else next year. read more

Disappointing - about 5 of the flowers were broken and many others totally wilted. It wasn't even that hot today in Fernandina today. I've never had delivered flowers, workplace or home, that were in such poor condition. As others have mentioned - problem with whoever handles delivery. I had to call to confirm. No delivery notification. No knock or door delivery when the I'll person was at the home with help. I tipped the driver through the app and they left the flowers in the heat of the day. I sent a contact to resolve the issue and still have not gotten a reply. I called around 12:20 and I just wanted to make sure my flowers were being delivered today because one of my coworkers said the website said closed. The flowers were beautiful but the custom service was not. He/they said to me "well this isn't pizza sweetie" in a very rude and sarcastic way. My mom wanted to send flowers to my office for my Birthday. She called me that evening and was surprised when she asked if I had received them and had not. She tracked them on Saturday and delivery date was changed to Monday. She even paid extra for same day delivery. She called Monday morning to make sure they would be delivered and the florist told her they needed "soak" first. The flowers finally arrived Tuesday afternoon.. what a joke this place is. Sister called about flowers to Mom and you assured delivery in the a.m. ... no such deal...called late in the PM you said "we forgot" after taking CC info and all. Then you said "well do you still want them delivered!!" in a flippant way. Under pressure to get them to poor Mom of course she did then you delivered the wrong flowers. TERRIBLE experience and NEVER using them again. I ordered my mom flowers for Mother's Day and her neighborhood has a gate, so I left clear instructions in the drivers notes on how to open the gate. I got a call around 6pm on the day they were supposed to be delivered and was told they could not deliver the flowers because they didn't know how to get in through the gate and had returned to the store (why didn't the driver call when they were having trouble?).... I told them the instructions were in the notes and their response was that it was the Holidays so that made it hard to get into gates (??) At this point the person I was talking to started to become rude and had a bad attitude, so to save myself the trouble of ever having to interact with this "company" again I decided to cancel the order. I ordered flowers for our anniversary to be delivered on a Friday. We waited and waited and waited some more. Friday afternoon I called Dottie's just to make sure the order wasn't forgotten. Finally, we gave up and headed out for dinner. Not 15 minutes down the road, our Ring doorbell alerted us to someone at the door. It was the flowers. The delivery lady was very nice and followed up with a phone call while still at the house. We told her we could see her on the doorbell cam and asked her to just leave the flowers by the door. She mentioned that she had left a small token of appreciation along with the flowers to make up for the late delivery. When we arrived home, the flowers were there (and beautiful) along with a nice box of chocolates in apology. It's been 5 days now, and the flowers still look great. I will definitely use Dottie's again-- but next time I may pick the flowers up in person just to avoid the suspense. : ) read more

I ordered flowers for my sister online to be delivered August 2nd. I called to clarify delivery time, to be sure someone would be home (not good to leave flowers out in the heat). They were delivered sooner than expected,fortunately someone was home. They arrived bone dry, so she immediately filled the vase. Within two days, all the flowers were wilted. The gladiolas that were cut short to fit into the arrangement never opened, just shrivelled up and turned brown. My sister asked that I never use this florist again as she felt it was a waste of my money and a bit of a disappointment to her. I worked in the florist industry for several years and I know that we never sent a vase completely full, but never did we send out flowers which were dry :( read more
