If your children's clothes are fashionable, without tears, stains, without excessive fading and freshly laundered you can sell your clothes to the shop and be paid in cash or you can accept store credit. This kind of recycling can save time, resources and your money and be a great positive social change. There are some wonderful brands available in The Secret Closet including Sprout, Gap, Bebe, Pumpkin Patch, Ralph Lauren and Country Road. Angeline 'The Doll House' is a pretty clothes shop which you come across immediately upon entering the shopping centre. You'll feel like you've fallen into a jewellery/dressing up box with all the bright and pretty decorations of the place! The clothes for older people, and by older I mean over 12, are ideal for those people who love polka-dots and frills, much like a friend of mine who describes her style as "dressing like I'm going to a 5 year old's Birthday party." This is in no way a bad thing as I reckon playful dressing is highly undervalued, and at least you know you won't be caught wearing the same thing as someone else to a party. To further this theme, there's even a kids section of yet more frills and pink. A little girl's dream come true.

The store isn't as big as the Melbourne one though but still offers two levels. One level is the ladies clothing and the second level is split between kids and men's. They aren't offering homewares like the Melbourne store does. They have some good options for men and the quality is better then what you are going to get for a similar price in the likes of Cotton On. I stocked up on some much needed items to get me through the winter months. Overall the store is a miniature version of what H&M offers and they are due to have a CBD store at the end of 2015 which will be a similar size to the Melbourne GPO store.

And the nicer suit-y garb, the wool jackets and cream suits and such. But most of it is like a glorified Cotton On, sadly. And where's the big homewares section that Melbourne gets?! It's super cheap though, which is great. I'm holding out for the CBD store. That has to have all the cool stuff, surely.

Man I wish I bought an apartment in this area 10 years ago, I'd be Australia's richest man right now. With Zara, Uniqlo, Top Shop and now H&M there's global fashion up the wazoo down Chatty way these days. This H&M is big, there's no homewares section but if you're looking for clothes you're well and truly covered, we're talking stumble-out-with-16-outfits type shopping, and they've kept the price points hella cheap (unlike, say, Sephora. Oh yes, we know about you, Sephora. For shame). Go. Splurge. There's even some limited edition shopping bags for the true believers.

There is less of a crowd compared to Chatswood Westfield, which provides relief for those who dislike crowds (which I am sure is most of us). With less traffic, it is easier to shop and navigate your way around the centre. Chatswood Chase houses a number of high street and haute couture stores from Alannah Hill and Zimmermann to Lisa Ho and Veronika Maine. If you're looking for evening wear, Chatswood Chase is the place to go. Having forgotten where I parked my car, I asked the valet attendant to help me locate my car. If you are a sucker for bargains then you will have to visit this place. From women's/men's/kids/ babies and homewares to gift ideas - good selection. You can easily spend hours here trolling through the items. If you park in the Mandarin centre all you need to benefit from the 3hrs free parking is to purchase items within the centre then you will get a receipt which then will be used at the ticket machine to get your free parking (wow such a mouthful)! Happy bargain hunting!
