Bionico is a modern Mexican twist on a traditional fruit salad. It gained popularity in the 1990s in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco. Rosita's version contains fresh cut papaya, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, apples and banana. She offered it with toppings of granola, coconut flakes and pecans. Then it is drizzled with a generous portion of a sweet crema. The bionico was so good! It was so much better and more refreshing than the best ice cream you can get in the area. Another person ordered a Piña Loca which is another refreshing fruit-based treat.
