The assistant manager even came by the tables with umbrellas a couple times to ensure everyone was staying cool. The window workers were terrific. Been wanting to come here for a bit. I've heard about this place and was excited to try. We kinda got this in place of lunch. But decided to get a hot dog just to say we got some lunch. Also got the turtle sundae and a nutty buddy parfait. Both were amazingly good. Turtle Sundae was sloppy but it was a 95 degree day. And the nutty buddy was peanut butter custard with chocolate peanut butter and nutty buddy's. Super good. The hot dog was mediocre at best. But that's not what you want when you go there you want ice cream! Service was fine. Parking is right in front. Prices are kinda high but worth it. Go to get innovative ice cream treats. Share them. I am pretty sure this is the spot my grandfather used to take us when we were kids for Frozen custard. Or somewhere close to it. The lemon custard was divine. My son settled on a Spider-Man popsicle and he thoroughly enjoyed that too. I think the sundaes here look amazing. I definitely seem to be in the minority here but I honestly wasn't super impressed with this place. The line was crazy long and didn't move all that quickly. Service was friendly and the people around us in line were nice so that was a plus for sure. After waiting for a while in line and hearing such good things, maybe my expectations were just too high. My mom ordered a hot fudge and peanut butter sundae and I got a small peanut butter sundae with some butterfinger bits. I will say the peanut butter sauce was really good! I had heard such good things about this place I thought I'd give it a try despite a 20 minute drive and by-passing other ice cream places close to us. Skoops lives up to the hype for sure. We have tried a few of their ice cream flavors and they have all been very good. Their sundaes are large and "crazy" with waffle cone chips and other topping that help make them unique. They also have hot food as well. Lines can be long, both of the times I went, I think I probably waited in line at least 10-15 minutes. The banana pudding sundae I was hoping to try was already gone so I chose to go with the blackberry shortcake sundae that sounded good and bc I sometimes, well often, have trouble deciding I also got a shake and so did my husband. His was strawberry and mine was fresh banana with butterscotch. If you've never heard of or tried this you must! It has to be fresh banana though. The syrup is just not the same. The line was long and had to park in the overflow parking below. Not a big deal for us and was a 2 minute walk up a slight hill.
