Food used to be great, Service and attention was also fab.... used to be our Go to in Prestwick…read more.. BUT boy has that changed... dreadful service and chicken caesar salad, Just No think chicken was found under the oven! The Lasagne was like pasta soup and just no taste at all! 60% of the meal left/ unfinished and spoke to the server and she just looked at me and said nothing

One sunny Saturday afternoon my Adonis and I decided to do what most Glaswegians do on sunny…read moreSaturday afternoons, and that's leave Glasgow for the day! We headed for Troon with the intention of having a romantic stroll along the beach, however when we got there it was full of families with little brats, sorry I mean little darlings, running riot and eating ice cream. Instead we decided to head into Troon town for lunch and we ended up at Lido. I was slightly dubious at first as it was absolutely heaving and the staff looked pretty frazzled but we managed to get a seat outside and were given menus immediately. As you go up to the bar to place your food and drinks orders we didn't have to sit for ages waiting on a waiter/waitress to come to our table. The lunch menu is pretty extensive so you're bound to find something you'd like. There's everything from pasta and pizza to burgers and curries and there is even a separate tapas menu! I had the traditional lasagne and some fries which you can get either plain or with truffle oil, chilli or parmesan! Adonis had the half pound steak burger with a side of onion rings. For reviewing purposes I had to sample his as well and I was very impressed with the quality of both our meals. In total they came to about £20 which isn't expensive and considering the place was rammed I expected the food quality to be a bit below standard. It wasn't at all, everything was delicious! I am particularly fussy when it comes to fries but they were spot on! I also had a cheeky little strawberry daiquiri from the cocktail menu and Big A had a Nojito (virgin Mojito). They weren't the best we'd ever had but they done the trick for sitting outside on a scorching day in April!

I go through phases, but this is probably my number one favourite restaurant on the entire planet…read moreright now. The street scene on Glasgow Vennel never fails to send me back in time - an old cobbled street, including the flax heckling shop ( an old stone cottage) which is a Burns heritage site. Inside, the ambience is good in the old school Italian style, and the atmosphere gets very hale and hearty as the evening progresses with all those Ayrshire families enjoying themselves! On my last two visits to family in Ayrshire, this is where we went, and it was been clean plates all round for us, from my niece (age 10) to my mother (aged 70+). Pizza for me, calzone for my sister, chicken for mother, and pizza & chips plus homemade ice cream and more elaborate desserts for the kids. All done to a T - see the photos from my sister's phone which I've uploaded. I wouldn't call it high glamour, but prices are reasonable (£9.25 for the most expensive pizza) and the value for money and wholesomeness of the food is unbeatable. In conclusion, it would take a lot to make me want to try a different restaurant in the Irvine/Kilwinning area.

This is a lovely restruant with a really good Italian menu at very reasonable prices…read more The staff are welcoming and attentive. The most exciting thing is you can have any pasta dish gluten free there are so few restaurants in Irvine that offer this and a dietary restriction can make eating out so difficult. Well done Adesso we will definitely be back.
