Dr. Galen literally saved my life. I was in an ATV accident in Cabo where I shattered my jaw, fractured my neck and spine. My friend emailed him photos of my jaw and the x-rays that were taken at the clinic in Mexico. They coordinated with his office when my flight would be arriving back to the US and he met us at Cedars Sinai when we landed. I was admitted, tests taken and in surgery nearly instantly. His follow-up was amazing and to this day, I have a beautiful smile and am pain free. I am so grateful to him and his entire staff. I now live in San Diego and continue to see him. My mom needed a tooth extraction recently and Dr. Galen was our guy. She recovered quickly and easily. And Rosie at the front desk--amazing. Dr. Galen is a genius surgeon , I have lots of experience compare to . I always went to best , but they panicked and were rocket high in charges , the pain was excruciating, it was a long healing process. Dr. Galen , my current surgeon, doesn't make a big deal , he takes conservative confidential steps without scare tactics nor hyperbolic statements . His golden hands do not cause much pain at all , extremely unusual. Dr. Galen is a highly knowledgeable surgeon , calm , focused, which is deeply healing in it self . My surgery went so smoothly, I didn't need even one pain killer , none. Was up and active next day . In my 70 th I recovered in 3 days . Doctor is honest and not greedy to just run up the bill . He hears you , sees you not as a statistic money producer . Rosie , the office surgery coordinator and head of front superbly busy serious enterprise is unusually responsive , very warm, smart , genuinely kind and highly professional. Every person in front and back couldn't be kinder , friendlier , more professional and really nurturing. The nurses are really incredible . For such a busy serious surgery center to project such calmness and keep order, assurance is very unusual . I consider my self lucky to be a patient of this gem surgery center . Wow. Had such a great experience yesterday had to share. Dr. Galen saw me on an emergency basis , and was very cordial and professional. I just got my wisdom tooth removed today, only one in the bottom right side of my mouth. This was a fully grown tooth, which made the procedure a little more complicated. STILL, Dr. Galen was so professional and efficient, I was in mid-conversation with him before the procedure and woke up after it was done. I was SO nervous about being sedated and using anesthesia, they made me feel so comfortable and talked me into a state of calm before proceeding. We were having a relaxed conversation and I woke up and didn't even know I was done. I would recommend anyone who is nervous or has any doubts about oral surgery, to see Dr. Galen. Dr. Galen did not read any of the documents that requested they have before you come for treatment. Dr. Galen, prescribed medication that I was allergic to. Never apologized. Other issues, never apologized, just put the blame on the patient. It is just a money making operation. Poor patient care. Staff is rude. read more

Dr. Galen's is extremely professional and the staff is courteous. They are accommodating in regards to appointments. My fifteen year old son had a custom mouth guard made by Dr. Galen and it has completely improved his lacrosse game. His mouth guard no longer falls out during the game. Well I just had a wisdom tooth pulled today. It's my third extraction with Dr Galen over the last few years and just like the previous times, once again he was incredibly nice and professional, I felt no pain during the procedure, and very little afterwards. Of course I was nervous, but he's relaxed, funny and put me at ease. And he definitely knows what he's doing because the actual extraction took no more than 4 minutes. He's the real deal and he even called and check in that evening to make sure I was doing okay.. getting a tooth pulled is never fun but I don't think it can go any better than here. I was referred to him for an implant. Did the consultation, had the implant done, went back for the follow-up visit and everything was great. He is extremely friendly, real quick, no ridiculous wait times in the office (even though I was early for my appointment twice) and best of all, barely any pain after the procedure (Advils worked fine, did not need the Vicoden he prescribed). If you are a General Dentist (I used to practice, but "retired" in 1997) and need an Oral Surgeon to refer patients to, Dr. Galen is excellent. If you're a patient and you were referred to him, your Dentist made an excellent choice. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Galen's services. I went in upon referral from my Dentist, and I'm so happy I did. I had my wisdom teeth extracted, which was excruciatingly painful, I won't lie to you. Dr. Galen and his staff are absolutely amazing, cheerful, compassionate and "THERE FOR YOU"- his exact words as I'm lying in the chair crying because of these horrid wisdom teeth. I cracked a joke about seeing unicorns as I awoke from being sedated and behold, he had unicorns on the screen as I woke up. He's humble, informative and has a personality! He called my boyfriend and I several times post surgery to see how I was doing. I had a painful day about week after surgery and they made an appointment for me immediately. I went to him for my wisdom teeth. He is highly unprofessional and does not know basic medical terms. He doesn't listen and kept asking me the same question multiple times. On top of that he accused me of misbehaving. Those were his literal words. I was so offended by this man. He only sees things in a way that are congruent with himself, his money, and not getting a medical malpractice suit. He does not care about his patients or about their health or well being. He literally dismissed my medical conditions because they would make things more complicated for him. I even asked if he knew what they were and he admitted to guessing. I was referred to Dr. Galen by a family friend. I had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled concurrently, about 20 years ago. A general dentist told me that my broken molar was not worth repairing and keeping. I had no other extractions since and now that I am 20 years older, did not want to trust my health to the hands of a dentist chosen by an HMO. Dr. Galen was kind, sensitive and kept me informed at all times. The procedure was free of significant pain and was completed smoothly, with no after effects. When I see reviews like Linda's from 4/17, it upsets me greatly. Dr. Galen is tops in his field, located in Beverly Hills and has treated some big name celebs. I'm not in a high tax bracket right now, but when it comes to my health it's well worth paying more for the peace of mind. My friend, who has gone to Dr. Galen for years, totally disagreed with the notion that he is greedy and I got the opposite impression from the way he and several members of his staff treated me. I cannot afford a Mercedes auto, but I refuse to settle for a "FIAT" (fix it again, Tony) health care provider. For the record, my appointment was at 4 PM on a Tuesday and I had no problem finding a free parking space on a side street, although it was all of 2 blocks away. I was referred to him by my dentist but I think he is a rip off. He does not accept Delta dental and his prices are high. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars more than if I had gone to a Delta dental participating provider. Unfortunately, I think the practice is very profit orientated. They don't even validate parking eventhough you have paid the dentist over a $1000 for the procedure. And the parking is very expensive. read more

I absolutely can NOT recommend Dr. Galen more highly!!!! He took out my daughter's wisdom teeth and it was no easy feat!!!!!!! My daughter has Asperger's Syndrome and just knowing she was having to go through this extraction (all 4 teeth) was so incredibly stressful and anxiety inducing for her. He was even kind enough to talk to her on the phone a couple of times before the surgery to help calm her nerves. On the day of the surgery, he couldn't have been more calming and like a father-figure to her. He spent the exactly perfect amount of time explaining the process (not droning on as some doctors do - only fueling the fear) and helping her through the process of an IV (which she had never done!) and making sure she knew she was safe and in good hands. At every step he checked in with her and within an hour, the task was done and she was on the road to recovery. Instructions for self-care were clear and easy and he offered to take her calls if she needed to talk to him. Even his office was easy to deal with. Rosie was so patient! I've been to quite a few other oral surgeons over the course of my life, and I can say without any hesitation at all, Dr. Galen is the best!!!!! read more
